I can’t quite place what it is, but for some reason, Halo Infinite just doesn’t trigger any fun receptors in my brain.
I was the last holdout of my entire friend group, one of very few people that didn’t outright delete the game, one of the only people trying to buy items in the shop occasionally and give it a shot.
Here are some reasons I’m strongly considering giving up the ghost for good:

Frame stability is worse since the season update

Hit detection is much worse feeling somehow. I don’t know if its still desync or server related, but even when the game was running smooth I was having bullets just plain do no damage with key weapons like the BR and sidekick. Then the AR would absolutely melt people from midrange. Its like they buffed it.

Last Spartan Standing is such a tremendous black hole of antifun, and then make almost every weekly challenge directly related to grinding it? I don’t get why this keeps being a thing with the challenges. If it is intended to convince people to try the new modes then you’re just coercing players to play something they don’t want to in many cases, and that’s pretty lame.

The melee nerf is weird and feels pointless. It seems to only impact a couple of weapons, but the weapons it impacts are now far less useful than they were. I guess it does limit forced melee encounters, but now weapons like the sword and Hammer have literally no counters whatsoever outside of a lucky stick or a repulsor.

I really don’t like Breakout. That’s a personal thing, as is most of this. I think mainly I dislike the layout and the lack of weapons on the map. I found a shock rifle a couple of times, but mostly I was just forced to use my AR and Sidekick the entire game. That leads me into the next issue…

STILL NO BR STARTS IN BTB? Why is this so consistently a thing they try in every Halo? I can’t stand the argument that BR’s would reduce weapon variety, especially when there ARE ONLY LIKE 5 ENTIRE WEAPONS ON THE MAP. The only weapon you pick up more often in BR starts than you would in AR starts is the BR for goodness sakes. Let’s just move past the silly concept and make the game at least tolerable for once.
This is a rant, I know. I’m posting it after having tried for a few hours to find something to enjoy and just constantly getting tilted because even if I did good I was just plain angry after I was done.
Like I said, I don’t really know why Infinite makes me so mad, it just does.
How can the game possibly come back from this if even a fraction of the people still playing agree with what I said here?
