According to Halotracker I have 47 kills with it in 400+ games somehow. Not sure how, must have been when my friend was using my account. XD

I bet you get rekt alot then lol unless the people you play with suck
I think that you should use the assault rifle and the magnum as two separate weapons for different scenarios like if your in close quarters combat you can switch to the good old AR and massacre the enemy with that or use the magnum for ranged battles to get a couple of head shots.

On the other hand, if you feel like you can perform just fine without it, all the power to you. I’m just saying if you expand your arsenal, you’ll have a more likely chance to outplay the plebeians.

The h5 is a noob cannon
I don’t understand why some people are so stubborn, that they won’t use great assets. Though I’m not a fan of the AR and think it’s ridiculously OP (incredibly long range, super quick ttk like other weapons, etc.) that doesn’t mean I’m going to shun myself from it because I disagree. That would just be outright silly. I’m going to use whatever asset I have to get a kill, I’m talking to you storm rifle!

I’m a Halo vet too and I still remember using the AR quite often in Halos of old…

Though this is true, just shows how sad this game really is. That you would have no advantage, say or skill-set by being a halo veteran. Sad.
In close range if you’re aiming for their head and they have a pistol aiming for yours, the AR will win. Further out the spread of the AR is different from previous games so the incredibly accurate Magnum would be better. The AR doesn’t feel very powerful if you aren’t getting at least some headshots.
But if you have some control over your trigger finger (or you’re particularly good with aiming) the AR will work fine.

I don’t see how making the AR useful in certain situations makes this game sad. It’s actually balanced that a full auto weapon can get beat a 3 round burst in close quarters. It actually makes this game require more skill to use it in certain situations and not just the BR the whole time. OP, like I said, you should use it in certain situations like if you’re hiding behind a wall or getting chased down.
