With all the skins we have seen being sold by large corporations I think the community should contribute to Halo 4 in some way.
I propose a monthly challenge where the community actually makes armor/weapon skins that can be added to Halo 4.
Use an image editing program like photoshop, gimp, etc to change the colors of the weapons to a unique design. From there we, the community, will vote for the best weapon and armor skin that will be added into the game.
The skins descriptions will list the creators and, get this, the makers can CHOOSE how the skin can be earned. Like let say in order to get my skin, you have to kill 4,000 people in MM.
That is basically the idea, the community makes, votes on, and earns skins made by us, the players via in-game objectives assigned by the players, for the players.
What do you think
I don’t care enough about skins and armor. Just give me a game with good mechanics and I’ll be happy.
> I don’t care enough about skins and armor. Just give me a game with good mechanics and I’ll be happy.
Then by all means don’t use any weapon skins or armor skins, But some of us would like to contribute to the game and add onto it in a way that brings the community together and lets creative people make a mark in Halo history.

So you look at this forum and make a post?
DOES NOT COMPUTE!!!
Anyways, I think this would be an awesome outreach to the community!
Question is: How would we go about unlocking them…?
EDIT: Soz, I read that a little too fast…

I think forge did a amazing job at bringing the community together. I’m just saying I would rather 343 worked harder on fleshing out good game mechanics and fixing bugs rather than creating a bunch of useless armor.

I like the idea
hopefully 343 can allow us to do this

Unlocking them is fairly simple.
First off the winners get both the armor and the skin because well, they won. Maybe 343i could also give them some generated unlock codes also but that is a stretch.
I propose using the custom challenge system on the Reach app to generate a “eternal” challenge for that specific skin. Like once it is added in the menu, 343i can update the skin and how to unlock it.
For example, I won and my skin is in the game, I just tell e343i my challenge to the Halo community, lets say get 200 headshots with the sniper rifle. Once someone does that, they unlock the skin forever. But people who do not choose to do this are NOT penalized in anyway, it is optional and the player will only see the challenge if they click to use the skin.
I propose a 1v1 with OP to challenge validity of this thread!
In all seriousness, i don’t think the a challenge is nesscary to obtain the skins we didn’t pre order for. It’s pretty much confirmed there will be standard skins for the game or why else would you promote such exclusives from which they derive themselves from?
I think this allows player choice to come into play. Pick the one you want and there you go.

I don’t think you read my thread, at all. I don’t want people to get pre-order skins, I want people to make their own skins that will then be added to the game for the makers and other players to use.

Yet you just made this post about the Waypoint Forums in The Flood:

> Nothing to see there, just kids talking about what is their favorite colors they want on their spartan.
…and then you make this thread?

OT: It sounds like a good idea though.

Similar to what valve does with TF2? 343 will make a ton of bank if it goes down that direction…

Couldn’t someone else argue that people are just creating a bunch of useless maps?
I am sure Forge is great and probably almost complete.
My feature would utilize the Reach objective maker and simply inserting added content into the game.
It is not meant to be anything that is too much of a hassle and I am 100% confident 343i could do it.
