I played Halo 5 Slayer on PC and it was glorious!

Why this is not part of MCC PC is beyond me. It should be. It needs to be!

So here’s the whole story.
I bought a gaming laptop the other day. The new ASUS ROG Stryx Scar, for those asking “What laptop?”
After installing all the apps I needed I was like “Hey, let me try that Halo 5 Forge app I heard about and see what it’s like”.
So I wait for all 30 GB to download and finally load in.

Boom! The old Halo 5 intro music and screen hits me right in the feels. Like full blown nostalgia washes over me, followed instantly by a big smile on my face.
It felt like coming home.
Haven’t played Halo 5 in a long time, sold my Xbox, sad story, let’s move on.
Btw, I’m one of those people who actually likes and played Halo 5 a lot. Apart from the campaign. I could never click with the campaign, even though I tried.
But like Ranked Arena and Warzone Firefight. I lived there back in the day.

So first I just sat there, looking at the ships flying by and just soaking it in.
Crank up the graphics all the way ( Only 60 fps :frowning: Oh well…), set up Mouse and Keyboard. Yes! My god, yes!
Then, wow. “Custom game”. “Customs browser”? Whaaat?!
I crack that sucker open and lo and behold: There are games going on.
FFA, Plaza, 4/6 people. Open to join. YES! Mom I’m coming home! YEESS!

And I got killed and dunked on just like I would back on the old Xbox. But better. It’s on PC. It runs great. It looks great. It’s Halo 5 on PC.
All that advanced movement, thruster pack, spartan charge and stabilize in mid air works so much better on K&M because you don’t need additional buttons on your controller to make it happen. There’s more enough buttons on a standard keyboard to make it work like a charm. It felt natural playing it that way.

So I ask you, why… By the Prophets, why is this not in MCC like all the other Halo games?! Seriously.
Ranked Arena, Social, even Warzone firefight. Just remove the REQ weapons and give people the basic stuff.
Even the campaign. Hell, I’ll play it again to beat it on Legendary with K&M as well. Maybe I’ll enjoy it more.

I don’t see anyone complaining about it. I might even bring in new people.
If you build it they will come!

I’m glad you enjoyed the experience so much! The thing about adding Halo 5 to MCC however is that Halo 5 was a massive game and adding it to the already massive MCC would be a huge task both technically and logistically, and frankly halo 5 is a tad controversial in the halo community especially amongst those who prefered the legacy halo games found on MCC. The idea of “if you built it they will come” has been tried a few times in the series and it doesn’t always pan out so 343 needs to ask how best they can manage their finite resources

Apparently 343 has straight up abandoned Halo 5 more or less since 2017 just to focus on infinite, I don’t personally agree with the decision but it shows you were the priorities are and I have my fingers crossed that it’ll be worth it; the idea that they will add H5 to MCC is basically nill for the foreseeable future however.

I definitely think the full Halo 5 experience should come to pc, but it shouldn’t be part of the MCC. MCC is too big of a download as is, and H5s file size isn’t far off. Halo 5 also came out after MCC, so it wouldn’t really make since to add it to an older game. With all that said, it would be great if H5 was added to PC so that those players could experience the entire series campaign and multiplayer

I would totally buy Halo 5: Guardians again just because of the modding opportunities it would bring. I mean to say, Halo 5: Guardians’ Forge mode is already the best there is (so far… looking at you, Halo: Infinite. Don’t let me down), but throw in mod support where AI, vehicles, and other stuff from the Campaign can be added, and instantly more map creativity is available. Imagine a Team Slayer match on a Kraken.

Thank you to all the commenters for not “tearing me a new one” because I like Halo 5 :slight_smile:
I mean, I like the older Halo games as well, especially Halo 2… But I like Halo 5 MP as well.

Because H5 was never part of MCC. The point of MCC was to bring the older Halo games to the new consoles. H5 forge on PC was made for map building mainly. I think H5 will eventually be on PC but I bet the demand just isnt there to make it a priority.
