Yea if someone manages to assassinate an infected and the assassination is stolen, they drop the sword and it can be picked up.
So did I, i saw an afk infected and went for the assasination, then grabbed his sword.
While this does need to be fixed, all I can think of is, will this really help the Spartans defend themselves from multiple infected?

Needs to be fixed? No, not at all, this adds a whole NEW level of chaos to infection.
The way you do it is to assassinate the enemy infected and the reward is his energy sword.
