I noticed somthing its kinda hard to be civil on here

not saying its impossible mind you but it is hard to be civil with feedback for 343 to get lets try to make sure that when we talk feedback to at least make it civil and not somthign that pushes folks away we all want infinite to be a success so can we please at least try to be civil about this

please? with sugar on top? and whip cream with a cherry?

Agreed.

Having been part of many different gaming forums for years, this is the first one that doesn’t try to self-identify the toxic interactions on the forums attempting to claim the title of “most toxic community”. But I truly think it resides here.

I’ve never seen a forum that feels more like a Wild West saloon where someone just got sucker punched into a piano, while another guy is getting choked out on a table.

Absolutely agree with OP.

Aren’t we all here, because we love Halo and want it to be successful?

Feedback is important, that’s the only way we can get what we want. But it is even more important for Microsoft and 343, because they want us to play this game for the next ten years. And I think at this point they should know, that some changes are needed to keep the customers happy.

Much love and stay healthy ya all.

exactly we all want infinite to be the best it can be but theres so much negativity to want ti to flop it kinda makes others push away from here and a little civil talk can go a long way espcily for infinte

The beta release has pulled a lot of temporary fresh folk into the forums to vent on frustrations and expectations.
I trust that within a month or two the civil and constructive posters will remain and we can actually discuss thing well

I hope so cause all this is kinda making me avoid the forums like the plague

Level headed feedback with clear details on what you want to see is the only way 343 can work with us. If we just say “X feature sucks” it leaves them with little info as to what is wrong and how we would like it to be.

Exactly there has to be a reason why it sucks dont just say it sucks abd leave it there that’s not helping

I’m not defending anything here, I think it’s difficult for people to manage emotions when they look forward to a game that takes so long to make (that was delayed for over a year) that helps them forget the crap happening in their own lives only time find out it’s a buggy mess with customisation one big cash grab.

A lot of people grew up playing Halo and to be honest, it’s a super easy franchise to get right so when developers get it wrong it triggers people.

That’s my understanding.

I’ve been critical of 343 for the exact same reasons. I’m not rich, my life isn’t a life of luxury. So when it comes to Halo, you want that escape. When stuff goes wrong it’s upsetting and then when you’re not listened to it makes you even more cross.

It’s not a great thing to experience.

I wouldn’t even limit it to here. The gaming community has gotten so much vitriol over these past few years, and it feels like no one can enjoy anything anymore, or let others enjoy what they like.

People complained in the past but this has reached another level.

We have 7 days until the actual release of the game, and after that point I don’t want to see people at each other’s throats as much. We all play halo, and we should be a community because of it. We should not let this franchise we love make us enemies. Even if 343 is having a rough start, we should help them instead of shouting insults at them.

“Fate had us meet as foes, but this ring will make us brothers.”

Yeah abd I don’t think it’s gonna go away sadly

Exactly my point we at our core want this game to be the best so we need look beyond the anger abd just as a community come together and tell 343 what needs fixing what could be added abd what can be improved on

Not bashing each other like it’s a loony toons episode

I think a large factor in this will be the increasing percentage of free items making people realize the current system is actually rather fair and inclusive. Right now we’re basically stuck with just the battle pass for customization but they have so many events planned and each week will be adding more items. We’ve already got another armor core from Tenrai that many people are using and there are extra helmets on the way right at the start of next year.

It’s definitely true. Even outside of 343 critiques people take any disagreement over game mechanics etc incredibly personally and set themselves into a corner with no chance of actual discussion. Many always make it out to be something personal about the person etc that is why they don’t agree with them even if facts or data are supplied. Gaming communities are passionate and it has always been this way. Halo community can definitely be on another level though. Having valuable discussions and listening as well as responding is definitely needed.

However I think we need to realize there is also going to be people that come into the forums that don’t love Halo and want it to fail. Being F2P now way more people will try it and not like it so just come to bash it. Some will also be people that prefer other games and will try to trash and cause issues here because they don’t want to see it succeed and take players from the games they prefer.
