I noticed something that could potentially be BIG!!!

Read the whole post before going to the link.

Go to this page. It’s the GI Halo 4 hub on their website.

Scroll down and look next to Chief’s AR. See those cords?

Two things came to mind when I saw them.

 1. They could just be wires from stuff inside the ship.

 2. They look like the tentacles Gravemind has in Halo 2. Could the Flood really make a return in Halo 4? As far as I know, 343i has not spoken on the Flood and has not said whether or not they will make a return.

I know that in Halo 3, the fight against the Flood is supposed to be over for good. Thing is, every Halo installation has Flood samples they left behind to study. I doubt they did this in shield worlds, the places built to protect life from from the blast of Halo in an attempt to starve the Flood, so why would they put Flood samples in a shield world?

Then this comes to mind: there is Flood inside the shield world in Halo: Wars. I don’t know how they got there. They may have said it in the game, but it’s been a long time since I have played it, so I don’t remember. If the Flood was in there, then it’s totally possible for them to have an existence in Requiem, too, the shield world in which Halo 4 takes place in acording to GI.

How they would get there, I don’t know, but keep in mind that the Forward Unto Dawn (the Frigate for those who don’t know) was on the Ark where the Flood was at in the last mission of Halo 3, so it could very well be possible that a carrier form (maybe even more than one) made it onto the ship before it left and has survived somehow this whole time. The Flood could then feed off of the Covenant enemies in the game and/or the UNSC if they make it to Requiem during Halo 4. This could mean the return of the Flood in Halo 4. That would mean that we would now have 3 enemies to fight: Covenant, the new enemy, and the Flood. The Flood’s appearance could change everything in the game.

Thoughts?

Nice find OP!
Interesting to think about, though it looks like the cord is attached to the light, i could be wrong.

Could just be wire’s, but you never know. Good to see a post not about “Halo iz COD now guyz!!!1!!111!”

> Could just be wire’s, but you never know. Good to see a post not about “Halo iz COD now guyz!!!1!!111!”

lol very much in agreement, the community has gone to hell over the GI article

> Could just be wire’s, but you never know. Good to see a post not about “Halo iz COD now guyz!!!1!!111!”

That’s what it looks like and that’s what I think it is, but we won’t know for sure until 343i tells us or we play the game.

Nice find! Also great to see a non-hate thread. Have you read the Forerunner trilogy, by the way?

Looks like it’s just part of the ship to me, but I do hope the Flood comes back.

It’s possible… boom, a full blown gravemind by the end of Halo 4 fading into 5 lol.

I think they aren’t going to put much focus into flood coming back, but later into the next game maybe…

This is more about Cortana Chief, new world and new enemy…

I think they are probably just wires, its a nice thought but the flood have been in four of the six halos and they havent been in the last two. I think they wont come back.

Nice eye, I’m glad to see things calming down and real productive speculation is rising. I would like to see the flood come back, albeit in a severly diminished capacity, this new trilogy should focus more on the new than the old IMHO

So, we have:

The Covies
The Flood
The Forerunners (very likely)
and The Reaper- er, Aincient Evil

Looks like Chief didn’t really quite finish the fight.

No

Really would like to see the flood return to the trilogy, they were the scariest characters in halo 1-3 and fighting them was by far the most challenging and spooky.

Very nice find.

It is true that the flood COULD be there, but we don’t know.

My speculation about the wires - Why would there be wires that long there? If they came from the walls that presumably exploded, then wouldn’t they have disintegrated/been blown to shreds?

Definitely something to think about. Could be flood, could just be random wires.
Who knows? (Other than 343)

Btw, haven’t read the books, plan to ASAP when time provides a chance.

So so many point less threads about - cod halo - bla bla

Nice find and it could be the flood –

All in do time …

Please don’t be the Flood. That is one of the only thing’s about Reach that I really liked. There was no Flood.

Going with that.

Notice the derelict Forerunner ships that were on the map? The Flood has control of Forerunner ships after all. They obviously landed there during the Forerunner-Flood War.

Do we actually know how long Flood can survive without feeding on a host?

It’s not that. It’s just that Cortana was watching the ship for 5 years, she would’ve noticed it.
