Big difference between covenant Slayer and regular Slayer is the way the starting loadout changes the game. In regular Slayer, practically everyone uses the pistol and just ignores the fact that they have an AR because pistol is just so much more effective. However, in covenant Slayer, I’ve won tons of shootouts with the storm rifle, even against carbines at medium range, so unlike the AR, I’m much more motivated to use it in certain close range situations. The huge problem with regular Slayer is that the pistol out performs the AR at any range, which makes no sense to me.
So as it stands, covenant Slayer is much more enjoyable because I can alternate between both my starter weapons, rather than be forced to use the pistol the entire time.

Pretty much man. Magnum has become a nuance in Slayer. It’s way too powerful and the bullet magnetism is super unfair and inconsistent. I recorded a clip of my round winning kill in breakout once and 2 out of the 5 shots I shot at the guy were like a mile off, yet one of the shots I missed was the game winning headshot. I was pretty ticked because the game cheated the other guy out of a chance to comeback after I obviously missed 2 shots, and it cheated me out of getting a kill I actually deserved.
The carbine is way more fair because the magnetism feels way lower when you actually have to aim at the other player, not just near him/her. A perfect shot with the carbine takes way more skill than the pistol.
For the storm rifle, I feel like it is what the assault rifle used to be: steady, controlled bursts at medium range and you can cause hell for the enemy. I used to get kills all the time with the assault rifle at close range, but now I don’t even bother using it unless I absolutely have to. I used to think the storm rifle was useless after the weapon tuning, but this playlist changed my mind.
