The title says it really, you’re all so caught up in arguing points on what belongs and what doesn’t when you all seem to have forgotten a major part of halo.
The only footage of Halo 5 that had been released is of the multiplayer beta, there is really nothing else to talk about.
I’m sure when they show us some campaign footage then everybody will start squawking about that.
Other than that the only thing to say story wise is blind speculation about the didact and the ark and whatnot, and if you’re going to do that you might as well post it in the Universe forum since more people know what they are talking about there.

So far, it would seem that the very few and unsubstantial story hints that we’ve had by now have yet to arose the same interest that the seemingly polarizing multiplayer has. Hopefully we’ll get more story details soon though, as H2A’s excessively short bookend cutscenes didn’t really cut it for me.
Not to mention that Halo 5’s multiplayer is what 343i has been shining most of the spotlight on.
And here’s the part where I state that if you want constant full-scale lore discussion, you’d really like the Halo Archive.
Best to check out the universe subforum or external websites such as Halo Archive. Waypoint in my opinion is more multiplayer focused than lore at the moment.
There hasn’t really been any story-related news on Halo 5G which seems very interesting nor has been released lately. The last bit of info we got was in Halo MCC at the beginning, end, and possibly a terminal. The earlier of which was already hinted at by Halo Escalation.
I’m sure that in time, new theories, info, and pictures will arouse more interest in it.
Another reason as to why there is a lack of these threads is because of the current problems within Halo MCC which is attracting more MP players.
As others have said, Halo Universe and Halo Archive are the best options to find such topics.
The universe section is generally the better place to look for story discussion.
I think the problem is right now most story threads have been…discussed. We don’t have an ongoing out of game narrative comparable to the Forerunner Saga going on. Escalation is very…simplistic, and doesn’t leave a lot of room for engaging speculation or discussion. Broken Circle while not a bad book, wasn’t amazing either.
We generally already knew Locke was hunting chief from the MCC trailer, the book end cinematics told us little more than some finer details, and that he has a squad.

Broken Circle is amazing but does not provide much material for the future narrative.

It was a good book, don’t get me wrong. There’s just not a whole lot to discuss about it. It’s a very self-contained story that doesn’t leave a lot of plot hooks for future things, except for things that’d require you to go back and read the book. It didn’t open up new thoughts or theories, or really provide new insight into things. It was nice to see a prophet who wasn’t crazy evil, and it was nice to have a glimpse into the war that forged the covenant.
While certainly not the focus of the story, and not somthing the overall story should be judged on, I felt the combat in the control room scene was especially weak. Plasma rifles were apparently rather in effective compared to spikers which cut through armor and shields like nothing. I also have a hard time imagining how a energy sword wouldn’t just cut through a gravity hammer, but instead the hammer could apparently parry it, and had such a hard time with brute armor as well.

Ya I rarely see anything campaign related on the halo waypoint forums. Although I feel something like campaign can make or break the game and deserves more spotlight. Oh, and the halo five beta looks good thus far. Except for the weird “sword” that is not a traditional energy sword. So stop complaining people, because it’s technically different.

The sad thing is… 343 will listen to those wanna-bes. ^^
