I need your help, my mcc freezes on start screen

Hello everyone, so I’ve played the mcc since launch and never had a problem but this update just broke my game because once I start up the game on my Xbox one, at the press start screen, the little load circle spins two times and then the game just freezes and crashes. Anyone got a solution? I really want to get the new halo 3 skull but I can’t even play. I even started the game with a second account and it worked! But with mine just freezes idk why. I need help please

It’s something related to the profile data, I had the same problem. To solve it, I delete the account from the xbox and I downloaded it again from the cloud. This helped me, for some reason in my main account this happens a lot (I think that this is because there is a lot of data).

I had the exact same glitch happen to me just a couple of days ago, and I can’t access MCC on my main account since. It just crashes everytime. Tried many different things: Hard resetting the Xbox, uninstall and reinstall the game, remove and redownload my account from my Xbox, went offline and connected once inside the game, and even deleted all my data of the game from the cloud. Nothing has done anything. It tried to sync data before I deleted it but since it crashes it didn’t get the chance to sync. I play MCC a ton and with the new update me and my friends were making a lot of plans: Challenge grinding, Game Nights and updating old Customs with new stuff, Machinimas, etc, but now I can’t do any of that. I have to play on this alt account instead, making me grind everything all over again, and I have been playing MCC since 2015 and had all of Season 1 complete. I reallyreallyreally need to somehow get it back, so please if anyone can help by providing a solution that works or getting it to 343 so they fix it or whatever works I’d be hugely grateful.

Update: I tried deleting my gamer tag from my Xbox and it didn’t work, uninstalled and installed again and it didn’t work, using disk version didn’t work, it’s really annoying to hear that a lot of people are having the same issue with no results, people even deleting their data and still not being able to play, we need help we just want to enjoy our game as always :frowning:

This happened to me last night. An hour ago I actually had success/ no problems knocks on wood.

Just a little background, I speculate it has to do with having an account on multiple Xboxes/consoles: I tried installing the MCC under my profile on our living room/roommates Xbox. Installation was taking too long so I said “screw it”, and tried playing on my bedroom/personal Xbox since I had already installed the update and I ran into a problem where it would freeze at the “Xbox Game Studio” during startup.
Looked here on Waypoint and people mentioned letting it play for up to 10 mins and eventually I got to the menu but the menu and UI was all messed up / “glitchy” (bizarre symbols, multicolored static images).

Steps I took to fix the problem:
-Deleted/uninstalled all MCC content on roommates Xbox.
-Deleted save data on my personal Xbox.
-Ran the game again. (Same problem where it’d take 10 mins to get to the menu)… Same problem… with glitchy UI.
-Deleted/uninstalled MCC (100GB) Content from personal Xbox.
-Reinstalled MCC through my disk.
-Tried it this morning and it worked and my data seems intact, oddly.

Hope this helps(?)…

Can you fix this bug please, I can’t enter the game with my main account.

I still haven’t been able to do anything about it. My friend tried asking for help too in the Halo Discord (I don’t have Discord myself) and he didn’t get any reply whatsoever beyond the “Have you tried resetting the Xbox or uninstalling and reinstalling the game?” which he stated we already tried to no success. I also left a post on it on the Waypoint support site and so far all I’ve gotten is the “We’re currently reviewing it” answer. I don’t wanna be distrustful but that doesn’t put me any more at ease.

See, that doesn’t happen to me. It just crashes my itself after hitting the Start button in the menu. Waiting isn’t an option in my case.
What I’m finding really frustrating is that no one seems to even be trying to help with this aside from people who are also dealing with the same or a similar issue. This thread as an example, is only made from replies of people with the same general problem.
I personally believe it has something to do with the profile data itself messing up or corrupting somehow, but even after trying to delete my data from the cloud it keeps happening. Funny thing is, I don’t think it even deleted because by typing my main’s gt on “Find Player” it still shows everything’s the same down to the File Share being intact.
I’ve just been using my alt to play since and had to re-grind all the Reach Season again (thank goodness for Challenges making it WAY faster so I finished it quick), but it’s still really annoying and I still need a fix ASAP. Funny because if/when it’s fixed, all the grinding on the alt will be pointless. No matter what I lose here. Still, I’d rather throw that away than all my original progress.

"GUYS I FIXED! 343 Answers my ticket with the following:If you have access to an Xbox console, please follow the steps below:

  • Sign in to the profile that is affected by this issue - Navigate to the console’s settings menu - Navigate to the tab labeled “Ease of Access” - Open the “Game Transcription” menu - If either of the following settings are enabled, please disable them: “Speech-to-text on” and “Text-to-speech on” - Additionally, you may want to try adjusting the following settings: changing the selected “Text-to-speech” voice and disabling “Let games read to me” - Please relaunch the Master Chief Collection and attempt to sign-in again.I’m in Brazil region, and this Game Transcription did not appear in Ease of Acess menu, so i put my console in UNITED STATES region, restarted, so i found the Game Transcription section. I do not use any accessibility option, but just in case i check and uncheck the options they mentioned and change (this is most important) the voice of the narrator, it was Mark, i change to David (you must select and press “A” to change). Just go back with “B” and open the MCC. Work like a charm. Remember, you need to do this in each account you have this bug. I did in both mine and my wifi account, i’m so happy right now! Hope this help you guys too.
Thanks 343 for the reply. Man, the voice of narrator, look where the video games problems reach…
Anyway, I returned my console to my region and native language and still works, you guys wich aren’t from USA can go back too.
    Cheers!"
    this is the fix.

I got the same reply. I thought it was a ridiculous idea but it surprisingly worked. I wasn’t sure if it was this, yesterday’s update fixing it (I didn’t try right away), or it was me first opening MCC, then signing in after hitting start. Interestingly enough, it seems a large chunk of these cases have happened to people who aren’t native English (I’m from Spain myself) so it might’ve had something to do with language issues. Idk, I’m just glad it works, I’ve actually been reluctant to close and re-open MCC now in fear it crashes. Can anyone spread the word over the other threads of people having the same issue? I bet they could use the help too.

Thank you so much for the fix!!! I couldn’t get the halo 3 skull in time though :frowning:
Ps: how in the hell changing a voice fixes the game?!?!? Doesn’t make any sence but oh well

Had been looking like crazy but this definitely resolved my issue. Thanks! You saved me!
