So I was in forge world and turned into a forge ball right before I hit the water, at the very edge of the water I noticed there were two layers of water, the one moving and creating waves and then everything below it,
I was at the level at which I was looking above the water until a wave passed by, when it did I could for a moment see the bottom of the ocean, not very far away.
my first thought was “that looks like a normal map” because I saw it as it was, and not through a layer of blue that makes it difficult to see,
I want to explore this underwater environment for secrets but I don’t know a way to stay alive that deep underwater, I saw a few indents that looked like shallow caves and such, but still couldn’t see all that well because it was in small flashes,
another thing, at some places when you put a wall or grid into the water so you can walk around on it underwater, in some places the limit on how deep you can go is -0.7- while in other places it’s different, so my thinking is,
what if the secrets that are supposed to be in forge world are in the water? at a certain level that you can survive at, now the only cool thing I could think of off the top of my head to be there would be something that lets you get rid of the water so that you can forge and play in that area,
there was a defined area of ocean bottom, which was very detailed (why would it be detailed if it wasn’t important?) and right at the edge of this there is an area of dark liquid looking substance that is level with the ocean floor.
I apologize on how unorganized post is, i’m tired.
ive done just about everything that you can do in forge world (including going off the map and flying THROUGH the visible bit of the halo ring) and ive never been able to get beyond -7 under water. by the way if you want i can post a link to the film of me going through the halo.
There is a spot that I have seen. I’m not sure if you need a teleporter or what but there was a map variant were a guy had a whole bunch of vehicles and junk under there. All I know is that it is somewhere in this general area…

Ah, I see you’ve discovered the “subwater”.
You know how if you look at the Forge World ocean, near the level boundaries, you can actually see an “edge” where the water gets darker? That’s the edge at which the subwater – fake blue non-animated “water” – actually curves upward, and the real water ends.
> what if the secrets that are supposed to be in forge world are in the water? at a certain level that you can survive at
A survivable pocket of water has already been found outside the map. It holds no secrets.
The subwater – that “second layer” of water that you saw – also holds no secrets. It’s completely solid and (aside from glitching grenade detonation sounds) it functions just like normal ground.
Hate to be a downer, but if there actually is a secret on Forge World, it’s not in the water.
Search the bungie.net maps for “underwater” and use one of those as a base. People have already done the work of mapping out the survivable areas of water for you, and placed spawn points. Wish I had known about it before I made my pirate map.
You can get underwater there. First get outside the invisible wall(I use a teleporter easily placed outside the invisible wall near the colosseum) then just find the area in the red zone in the link between the soft kill zone and invisible wall.
