I need some tips for this game.

I’m particullarly bad and don’t fully understand the ranking system. How can I go about not being terrible and rank up faster. I Just wanna hit that general rank.

I only need 3 achievements. I need the Gen. one and the two DLC ones that everyone suggests I boost for. -_-

NOTE: I love the game really enjoy campaign I’m just really bad at multiplayer and would like to learn how to level fast so I can get that achievement outta the way. I’d also like to not consider myself a cheevo -Yoink!-. Just a Halo cheevo -Yoink!-.

well what leader do you use best?

I’m considered top tier player in halo wars and I can tell u now don’t boost for xp. Play the game out in 2v2. It has most maps and competition. Experience in how Many games u play u will learn more stuff.

If your just in it for the points, play ua 3v3 and watch other players. It’s all about adapting, if you see someone doing a strat that seems to work, give it a try. Whenever you get the chance try playing in teams. This will help you get to general and you’ll have fun. If you are looking for builds just give me a heads up and I’ll be glad to provide them. Enjoy.

I am also only missing the “Running the Show” achievement for this game and it just takes time and work. Yes, you will get there sooner if you win, but you can even get there losing if you play enough. You just need to play and learn as you go.

One tip I would give you is to go for higher multipliers for your score. One of the ways to do that is to not lose units. You are bound to lose units, but the fewer units you lose, the higher your multiplier goes. The best thing to do is to scout your opponent(s) to see what they are building so you can build the appropriate counters. Don’t build too many, just a few will take care of whatever they’re making. Another thing I like to do is build Scorpions (I usually play as UNSC) because they both give and take a lot of damage, so that can help your multiplier at the end because you shouldn’t lose as many. Just remember to build those counters!

if you are looking purely to get the achievement them go for deathmatch, you tend to average more point in deathmatch than standard

Watch the videos that have been posted in this forum. I posted about 3 links the other day to some awesome players pages on how to play.

be forge. build 4 supply pads and collect crates with your scout. build a reactor and upgrade the base and build a second reactor. build a vehicle depot and then save 1200 supplies to upgrade one of the reactors. when it is upgraded buy cannister shell and then sell the un-upgraded reactor and build another vehicle depot. use both depots to build 6 tanks and then sell a depot, build a supply pad, and then expand/attack.

Hey, so i’ve been playing this game for a few years now, made various accounts just to have to get general again (gets boring when there is nothing to work for) and i’ve worked out the preferential tactics for each of the UNSC guys.

Cutter (This guy is my favourite) - supply pad - reactor - supply pad and keep going with them for the rest of the base upgrading them as you go. Whilst doing this build an extra warthog and give it gunner. use them to destroy another base. By the time you have built a second base (about 5 mins) you should (after practice) be able to upgrade the first reactor. On the second base build baracks (either build marines to put in the laser walls or start upgrading)- supply pad- supply pad- reactor. this is timed so the third reactor is made just as you need it to go medic. you should get ODST at 8 mins and then either go for double mac with an armoury with a vehicle depot on the other remaining pad or just double pump vehicles. This done correctly you can have three spartan tanks, four wolverines, three macs and odst and a good economy by 12 mins.

Anders Next.

Anders is virtually the same as cutter for the first base though will take a bit longer as you have to upgrade your base first. Then for the second base build 3 supply pads, a field armoury, then a reactor and then upgrade so you build quick and go to 40pop. then destroy your field armoury and build an air pad to start upgrading hornet. whilst doing this build one more supply pad and another air pad. then once you have upgraded hawk double pump them. Should have twenty by 10 mins. Then ATTACK destroy enemy reactors and move around lots. then, you can either build more hawks if they aint countering it or you can double pump tanks or wolverines.

This kind of game like cutter means you are vunerable to a rush but means superiority mid-late game. With cutter i have lasted hours. Anders wont last quite as long. Always with hawks go for the best ranked enemies reactors then go for the least ranked enemies whole base. Dont forget D bomb.

Forge Next. Though will do so tomorrow.
Yes I’m a geek, who cares?

Will do it now. The guy who posted before me is similar to my style though make five supply pads, then a reactor and upgrade it straight away (you will just about have 1200 by this point) then build vehicle depot and pump tanks. This extra supply pad means you can get grizzly quicker. destroy a second base (with one tank and destroy the corners first to get a star on the tank) and build a supply pad and keep going till 6 tanks, then another reactor and a vehicle depot. once have 7 tanks use one vehicle depot to upgrade cannister and the other to make 4 wolverines. Then either attack or build spartans and attack or wait for grizzly and then attack. ofcourse you can attack whilst waiting for grizzly.

If the enemy is only either forge or anders you can build a double reactor at the beginning (after 4 supply pads) and then another reactor followed by a vehicle depot. (upgrade double whilst building the second reactor) Then build cobras and wolverines evenly. till ten each (using field armoury and obviously another base with supply pads and another vehicle depot) This can mean that the enemy can only beat you by building cobras, by which time you will be superiorly positioned. Lots of points have been had like this.

Regarding cutter, i just remembered. After getting 3 spartan tanks, send them in to destroy and when their life if down to 1/3 send them back and block the enemies with your odst’s being dropped. This can result in full starred spartan tanks. Lots of fun!

Cheers.

TERMINA TINGBRO

Do you suggest your strategies for 1v1? Are those suggestions for beginners (TS 0-25) or more advanced players?

it looks like beginners and people below 30 true skill.

Ok. Still forget the grizzlies. They are inferior to power turret tanks.

In high level games, hogs are important and it’s necessary to build 4-5 and use them to clear bases, stop expos, rushes, etc. Also reactors shouldn’t be upgraded unless you are planing on staying on one base or turtling. As unsc go tanks, or gauss depending on leader and situation, and possibly build anti air (used more in ua). Once you research pt it is wise to sell your fourth reactor so you have a better eco and can continue to pump tanks. Remember that as unsc you should be double pumping tanks (especially if you have two bases). Hope this helps. Enjoy.
