My friends and I are trying to get better so we can dominate all the kids in Halo 4 when it comes out, so please give us some advice. This is an average, everyday gameplay example right here.
Things to note:
This is not my gameplay, just two of our team.
Constructive criticism is absolutely warranted and desired.
Insults are fine, it’s no big deal if you think his sniping is awful (it is), etc.
If you want to play with these people, talk to them not me please
First, use your magnum - it is better than the Assault Rifle. Take your time with the DMR, pace your shots and practice against each other more often. Your motion tracker (radar) is the most important thing in the game, this should be used at all times. Especially on small maps in team slayer. Wait until your overshields go back up before going back into battle. Always be sneaky, don’t go into the middle of the map showing yourself to the enemy, there will always be someone who sees you first.
Watch gameplay on youtube and learn new tactics and stuff like this. Hope this helps.
If the game works right, you will never “dominate al the kids”. You will be in matches that are evenly balanced for you. You wont be anywhere near the kids. That is if it works right.
The big hole in matchmaking seems to be the massive lethality boost you get from just having a mic in/being in a party. I dont think the system is accounting for this properly since they introduced party chat.
A lot of spraying with the DMR going on without much hitting. Adjust your sensitivity if that helps. Keep your eye on the radar too which you seemed to forget a bit often.
Update: Yea, your sensitivity must be pretty high because when you pick up the sniper you actually aim over them and keep going and firing too late.
Landing shots and getting into places you can control are key! Otherwise you might as well be 2 mediocre AI for the other team
to be helpful what you should have is a team of 4 atleast one with good aim for support of the other three then from there know the weapon spawns then have atleast one person with air support to dmr them then the next person should be a close quarters skilled combatant and then a grenadier but don’t be a power weapon hog because it’s kind of unfair and remember to crouch to get some better accuracy some ways to kill enemys grab plasma pistol charge it hit person with emp then switch to dmr or assault rifle or pistol to get the kill or if your a close type shoot with assault then melee or use the shot gun to bring them down or just come up with your own ways because there are so many ways to be successful

Completely agreed. My aim isn’t anywhere near what the pros have, but my KD is at a respectable 2.3. And that isn’t from objective farming, my KD is at 2 or higher in over 10 different playlists.
One day I realized that even if I could get my BR to a perfect 4 shot, if I was facing others who were doing the same it wouldn’t be enough to beat them. I then realized that the way you play is much more important then having perfect aim.
If you want to become a true master in Halo, a player that can decimate teams even when you are a few players short without mercy you’ll have to go back and play the original Halo trilogy multiplayer. Reach won’t gain you anything. Halo 3 is still online and the world of awesomeness awaits you.
I can’t recall how many matches in reach where I am a teammate or two short and I can still wreck the enemy team. That’s not skill learned from derp reach but Halo 1, 2, and 3 combined. Every time I flat out DMR an enemy and he gets no shots on me I know that’s my 5 star general skill kicking in with all the fancy strafe moves I used on players back in the day. Oh those were the days =)
In other words, it’s much better to play halo 3 in the months coming than reach to prepare for halo 4. I won’t have to ‘prepare’ though. I never left Halo 3. Been playing it still since 2007 midnight release =)
Just watch my file share and do the opposite of what I do, and tbag a lot… a lot of people i see that think their good seem to like to do that… also killing people quickly helps as well. aim for the head, and try not to get shot. find the weapon your good with and kill any one on your team who gets it… I see that a lot from people who say their good…
Or play mlg, don’t quit when people are better. Know your team well and play at lest 5 hours everyday. go to file share and look up the tags training Aiming and play those maps, get on youtube and learn from people who post up there vids. Play the camp with your sound off to get in tune with your radar. most of all never give up, the more you play the better you will be.
