Okay so I have been playing warzone firefight, I really like it 343 did a pretty good job. 
But I’m a little bit confused on how the rewards system works. I’ve been getting either a lot of packs at random times or none when I should have. (If you’re going off the message of the day.) So I just wanted a detailed list of when and why I should be expecting req packs, thanks.

You have to win firefight games to get packs I believe… either that or score really high.
Yeah that’s what I thought but even when I win I don’t get packs but sometimes I get random gold packs that come in groups and an occasional silver.
It’s because now you get silver & gold req packs for completing FF commendations
All the packs your getting are coming from Firefight Commendations. Instead of being commendation packs, they’re full fledged silvers/golds. Check your Commendations tab on the menu, then Game Mode, then scroll till you see FF ones.
As others have said it’s the commendations, it’s a nice way of getting gold and silver packs but it really doesn’t take long to complete them.
Thanks everyone, one last question though. On the message of the day it says you get a gold pack for winning a game, three for winning five games, etc. Is that only once then I’m done or can I keep earning golds from wins?

That’s only once. It’s under Warzone Firefight Wins, a commendation.

I believe it’s a one time deal, they have added a Warzone Firefight daily win pack, and yesterday for winning a Firefight game I got that and the Warzone daily win pack. Not sure if that’s a bug or not though
