I need a perk to pickup grenades?!

That’s just silly 343.

HISTORY LESSON! Halo is about guns, grenades, and melee. If there’s a perk to pickup grenades off fallen comrades why not a perk to pick up weapons off the fallen too? Sounds silly doesn’t it. Well that’s how silly “resupply” is to me.

Why stop there? We have perks that affect gunplay (stability, dexterity, ammo) and grenades (grenadier, explosives, resupply). Why no perks that affect melee? How about a perk that allows me to melee faster? How about a perk that allows me to kill someone with one melee? Sounds silly doesn’t it? Well, I’m trying to show you how silly perks are in halo. Halo is about… wait for it brothers and sisters… balance

So let me clarify. I don’t hate perks. I enjoy them in other games. Just not halo.

I can’t believe I’m saying it. sigh & face palm This isn’t COD. This is my beloved halo. A game I hold close to my heart. If halo continues down this path I’ll have to leave a franchise I’ve cherished more than anything. (By the way 343 if any of those perks make it into halo 5 I expect royalties you hear?! Even if I won’t be playing halo anymore haha)

In a perfect halo world with no perks.
Spartans are super soldiers correct? Why can’t they already reload a gun faster than your average human? I’m not saying everyone should reload dexterity fast but what if everyone could reload a tad faster than normal? Heck, the “shielding” perk should be the default capabilities of everyone’s energy shield.

Perks create an illusion of more content and variety.

That is all. I could go on forever but I’m sleepy. Hey 343 you can hire me if you want. I have tons of ideas to evolve halo and keep it an arena shooter

I thought it was ridiculous to theres a perk to pick up gernades.

IT SHOULD BE AUTOMATIC PICK UP.

They made picking up grenades a perk to stop grenade spamming.
If you have played Team Throwback, you know why its a good thing that they did this.

Also, melee attacks already are insanely fast compared to other Halo games.

preach it brother/sister… Amen!

Well thanks to instant respawn that problem was not solved. Grenade spamming still exists my friend. I have a solution though.

I use the nade perk most of the time.
<3 nade spam.

Haha You sir made me laugh!

I learned this in the Reach forums.
wait for it, wait for it, Here ya got brothas and sistas… Learn to adapt!

I actually like the fact that I’m not getting spammed by nades all the time. Gives us people who rely on guns in a FPS to stand a chance.

Good sir I agree with you. I actually rely more on my gunplay since I’m not AMAZING (though not terrible) with grenades, but I still think resupply is silly. I would like to have a sit down with the community and try to figure this out and balance it instead of slapping a perk on it. I have an idea but it would take awhile to type out. Maybe I’ll post it here tomorrow.

Grenades aren’t any more spammy now than they were in Halo 3. Perhaps you are the one who “needs to adapt”.

But seriously, there are better ways to nullify grenades than by making resupply a perk, which doesn’t solve the issue anyways.

Do you have a mental illness? I am not trying to flame, you. I am seriously concerned.

Simple solution. Halo 2 nades. You could carry 4 of each and the game worked fine with it.

Reach nades were OP because they had the power of H1 nades, but they didn’t have the long fuse time that H1 nades had. H1 nades took like over a second to explode while reach nades would explode in less than a quarter second.

Post your idea tomorrow!
I would like to be a part of your future thread.

Hopefully it attracts all sides!
(Competitive, Casual’s, nOObs, Tryhards, 50’s, Colonels, BK’s, and those who just like the game)

Ah remember when you could have up to 4 grenades of each type by default.Ah those were the days.Ah don’t ya remember when a grenade could set off another grenade and there would be a chain reaction, those were the days.Grenades should go back to how they were in Halo:CE.Now that’s going back to Halo’s roots for ya buhahahaha.

Vehicles were indestructible, frags could topple them allowing for boarding strategies, and the grenades couldn’t bounce 50 feet after landing and had a balanced detonate to power ratio.

Pretty much everything was better about Halo Ce, I don’t care about realism.

Tactical / Support (T/S) Packages that let you do things which, logically, a Spartan should be able to do without them:

Firepower, resupply, grenadier

T/S packages that make more sense as an AA:

-Shielding, sensor, awareness, stability, stealth (without the quicker assassinations), and possibly mobility. These “perks” can be explained as being possible with the modification of armour.

T/S packages that don’t make no sense:

-Explosives, wheelman, ammo, gunner (the less overheating part) ordnance priority. These allow things that don’t make sense “logically”. I.e. why does “explosives” increase resistance to grenades, but not bullets? And why does having a “perk” increase available ammo? It’s like having a “luck” option taken from an RPG

I’m not complaining. Just saying some things don’t make sense sometimes.

Anyways…

You’re funny!!! Got any more jokes?
Why did the Spartan cross the road? To kill a grunt! hahaha!
Lame right? Nearly as lame as your comment.

OT: Play Halo 3, Select Lone Wolves or Team Slayer or Multi Team or Social Slayer or Rumble Pit, play Construct, go to top of gold lift or top purples… jump jump jump. Then come back and tell us Halo 4 has “just as much nade spam” as Halo 3 did.

I’m no Halo 4 hater, but the removal of grenade pickups as default functionality was a significant error in 343’s multiplayer design. We could always, from the beginning, just pick up dropped grenades. Some people complained about grenade spamming. And for that, we got this, but there has to be a better way to address grenade-spam grievances than making grenade pickup a special ability.

Do the right thing, 343, and make sure this doesn’t happen again. Or if you REALLY want to set this right, patch out the Resupply package or change what it does.

What is your solution?.. ?

Nades are an essential part of Halo.

…Then again, this isn’t really Halo.
