I miss when crossplay was optional

I’m starting to really struggle to comprehend and understand the relevance of your points now…it’s just noise and this debate is getting very very boring.

For a start, a pro players opinion still remains to be one thing…and this is just one persons opinion. Whether it’s Snakebite or any other pro player, his opinion is no more valid than mine or yours, and shouldn’t be taken as “oh the mighty has spoken and his word is gospel”.

Going back to the game…I can be playing and I would say approx 90% of the time I can call out PC players on M&K. The way they move, the instant no scope shots on the turn, the ridiculous rapid fire Sidekick perfects…yet you and the other guy would have us believe that these things don’t happen but we see it day in day out ourselves whilst playing the game.

It is quite interesting that you guys are arguing this point rather than just conceding that we would all benefit from the simple implementation of an option to disable crossplay…you literally have nothing to lose.

I see it is interesting because ItzTheDay is an average at best M&K player with a 1.01KD in the M&K ranked playlist but miraculously jumps up to 1.24KD when playing in crossplay amongst controller players. This tells me that ItzTheDay even struggles to compete against other M&K players yet he is blaming a lot or his performance on controller players.

Then we come to yourself who is ranked D3 in crossplay and Onyx in controller…and surprise surprise, you haven’t played any ranked M&K games. This tells me that you’re clearly a decent player on controller and I literally have no idea why you are trolling this thread banging the M&K drum with your anti-crossplay options noise when you don’t even play on M&K…or at least not in the ranked M&K playlist?

They’re trolls.

Also let’s not use some content creators as the master voice. They’re one person and just a normal person at the end of the day.

Crossplay has nothing to do with input, you can have either input on any device. Halo “pros” have been using controllers for many years but people seem to over look the very obvious facts.

Crossplay isnt input.
Controller gets a small AA
Controller AA is better on PC
Controller is harder to move, aim and shoot consecutively while a mouse is abit easier.
The reason controller gets abit AA is because it’s far harder.

There are pros and cons to both inputs.
CROSSPLAY ISNT JUST ABOUT INPUTS.

BUT IT SHOULD ALWAYS BE OPTIONAL. Anyone against players having more options clearly doesn’t care about other players, theres 0 negative to an option.

@Stitch7833 Feel free to edit this into your OP for the topic so people see it. I found this two days ago through a YT vid that I can’t find anymore lol.

You can turn off cross play (almost 100%) at the Console level in the Xbox settings.

It’s unclear if this will block play with PC players who are playing a game through the Xbox app and not Steam (or another launcher)

Xbox settings
→ General
→ Online Safety & Family
→ Privacy & Online Safety
→ Xbox Privacy
→ Custom
→ View details and customize
→ Communication and multiplayer
→ You can join cross-network play
→ Block

The most important part of that video just so happens to be the first 30 seconds which you can have as my take on it too:

…and to be quite frank, I’m bored to death discussing it with you guys so this is my last post on the subject.

Seeing as you guys want to use pro players as a mouth piece for your agenda, then here’s one for you from Nadeshot…

Enjoy! Over and out!

That doesn’t work on Halo Infinite as has been stated many times on here, Reddit, etc Basically we all use Microsoft accounts so that method doesn’t work…also it didn’t even work on COD Warzone as you’d never find a game by doing that.

I didn’t bring up pro players. I just commented on it after someone else posted it. They do know the game much better than we do so their particular understanding on it are more relevant than ours. Same with racing drivers Vs you or me in a debate related to racing cars. It’s not gospel but it does provide more relevant insight.

You miss the point. I don’t play m&k because it’s an atrociously unfair way to play the game. I’d like to but I’ll get destroyed by Gold level players all day.

Honestly it’s not really something that people who don’t have access to use both should even be commenting on. I don’t mean yourself specifically but, it’s clear many here have never used a mouse outside of browsing before. Uninformed opinions and all that.

You don’t play it because you’re bad. I’m bad at mice, too. Yet, you don’t see me complaining about it.

You’re onyx in controller and diamond in crossplay. Why are you complaining?

It’s not about me. I can still play controller, probably better than most, but loads can’t.

There are Global Elite level CSGO players that can’t play this game because Little Billy on his Xbox one can wipe the floor with them with minimal effort.

I know Xbox only players won’t care but the steam numbers are way down. Less overall players hurts the game. Having a more level playing field can only be a positive thing.

Because some people don’t care about how good they are, some people aren’t selfish. Some people can see the bigger picture.

Once again input and crossplay are different things. AA is stronger on pc too if we must go into that but all inputs have positives and negatives.

Many issues with it all but none matter when we want an option as it should always be a CHOICE for crossplay.

STOP FORCING A CROSSPLAY AS AN INPUT ARGUMENT. I just want a choice, one I was always promised.

The problem you have there is there is no way to balance inputs.

As pros have stated nerfing AA will have an effect on the console playerbase which would cuase their biggest market to leave as nerfing AA to suit MnK will take away the experience from the average gamer. Not pro.

The average gamer is where their money will come from.

So the easiest way to make people happy is make crossplay optional as their is nothing taken away and the experience is not altered. There are many reasons as to why people don’t want to play crossplay and there are reasons people do. Having the option allows that

I do get where you’re coming from but I hate when people say there is no way to make it fairer. Surely there are ways MS/343 and their design teams can figure something out.

Actually it’s 343 they’d probably shut the game down and not know how to fix it if they changed anything. Nevermind.

Well would help if AA actually worked all the time and worked the same on all platforms.

That would be the start, but both inputs have good and bad. But crossplay dont stop inputs so having a crossplay option dont affect inputs

Shut up. Wanting a good experience isn’t selfish. I got a right to have one don’t I?

You’re onyx in controller, too. Why are you complaining?

You want a good experience for yourself and could care less about others. Let’s say you went one on one with someone like Shroud and you win every time. Do you really think you’re that much better than him or would you be more on the lines of “yeah something isn’t right here, no way I should be beating Shroud”.

I pick Shroud because he is well known and it’s without a doubt his aim and accuracy is well above most. Granted he doesn’t have much time on Halo and there’s a reason for that, only 8 games played and out of those 8 he’s only won 1 game. His overall shot accuracy is 46%, in solo MnK ranked he’s 53% but he only has 4 games played in ranked. If any top MnK player could land perfects it would be Shroud, there’s a reason why they call him the human aim bot. He doesn’t need to know the history of Halo or how the gunplay works. He goes by what he witnesses with his own eyes and for him to say headshots don’t matter in Halo, that alone should tell you something. Yes, we all know a headshot matters in Halo but for Shroud not to notice any benefit in shooting the body vs head, what does that tell you? Oh, let me guess. He sucks, right? Again, it is Shroud we’re talking about. If there was any MnK player to land perfects with the BR, it would be Shroud but the average controller player can land multiple BR perfects a game.

What I would say is headshots don’t matter in halo as much as other games regardless of inputs. Unlike other games where headshot = death halo does not have that. Most fps games are trained that headshots win a gun fight.

Now the mantra holds more on pc then console due to the difficulty aiming most console players aim for center mass as this will be more consistent. Now halo has 0 multiplier for headshot until the shield has popped.

Halo is a different beast to other fps shooters we’re aiming center mass can have an advantage unlike aiming for head due to difficulty hitting it.

Having a history with halo makes a massive difference its like swapping from playing sniper in cod to battlefield. Cod sniper fires like a laser and bf had an arc. You could have a high aim in one but when the mechanics change between guns in halo largely it makes a difference

Anyone that plays SWAT says hi! :joy:

One of my bad habits is always aiming for the head rather than centre mass so I need to retrain my brain to aim low then high…but I don’t do badly for someone that consistently aims for the head tbf.

Kind reminder

CROSSPLAY DOESNT JUST MEAN INPUTS

jeez.

if this were true, why is so much easier to land perfect BR kills on controller than it is MnK? A perfect BR kill means all 4 bust landed on the head, hence there’s a medal for it. So your statement does hold some value, but it’s towards MnK and not so much controller. You also get rewarded a perfect medal for a all shots landing on the head with a pistol, which seems impossible to do with MnK, yet can be easily done with controller.

Absolutely. 343i also need to rename their ranked playlists as it is very deceiving the way they have named them currently with “open” listed as crossplay and “solo/duo” made out not to be crossplay.
