I miss when crossplay was optional

What do you mean there’s not enough players? You can’t find 7 other players to play with?

343i just want passive money from Infinite. They made the work and now they just have to let the whales doing whales stuff (buying 20$ for 1 skin and a sticker).

The generic battlepass and events are already made for 5 years and now they can focus on something else, if there are still people working on something in 343 studios, most of them have been recruited just for making this game, their contract is over.

Forced crossplay is a joke

I missunderstand the topic, my bad.

As european Onyx player, it’s not easy to find people already, removing crossplay will make it even longer

In ranked I often have low diam, even lower in the matches, in both teams
In casual it would be okay but there is this MMR system, again as onyx player, without crossplay it would takes even more time than it’s reqiuered right now (yes it’s only 2-5 minutes but could be the double without crossplay)

Oh wait. I’m not asking for a removal. Just disable it by default and let players choose.

I was looking forward to playing Infinite, and when I found out the MP was going to be f2p that is when I lost all interest.

Anyone intelligent enough knows F2p is the worst thing to ever happen to Halo in it’s history, mainly because of all the BS that comes with it. At this point 343 has shown they care about the BS more so then creating a decent game for its player base that support them for over a decade.

I see.

But I wonder what are the argument for crossplay on/off selection when it’s not about inputs ?

Cheaters ? I have like 200 hours of multiplayers and reached onyx in 2 ranked selections, and I’ve met maybe 2 obvious cheaters, maybe more but they were then very sneaky or bad cheaters.

So for me cheaters isn’t an issue actually, or I’m very lucky.

What are the other reasons ? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

oh boy I could probably type a paper on the pros and cons of crossplay.

I wonder if that would’ve earned me some As in writing class.

In no particular order, PC players have the advantage of much higher frame rates. They can strafe much faster you know<>. They can spin around faster and no scope like its nothing with a sniper rifle. I also don’t mind saying your average PC player in terms of skill is on par with a top tier console player. PC players are generally dedicated gamers, which means they on average are going to be much better players, where as your average console player are casuals and do not dedicate their lives to gaming so on average they will not be as good. No I don’t want to be matched with them. As it stands they are currently quickly running off the casual players, once they do this game will die. There are not enough PC players to support the game. The money is with keeping the casuals playing.

Pretty much, I actually watched the end credits after beating the game and dear God the amount of Temp Agencies they used was like 80% of their workforce.

Halo in itself isn’t really built for a F2P live service style, at least the traditional Halo model which is what they tried.

Live service games work best for a Battle Royal, but 343 can’t do this with Halo… Literally they could barely manage a 12v12 without breaking it, I doubt they have the competence to pull off a 100 player map Battle Royal. Not to me room 100 players is old by today’s standard of BR.

Honestly they should had made it another Reach, not live Service not F2P… Than made a secondary F2P mode elsewhere.

I don’t see why anyone would be against players having the ability to turn it off. It would just be an option, if you particularly don’t like it we’ll just don’t use that option. It I don’t see the reason to deny others something they prefer to have as an option.

If only …

I would win all my games.

You can turn off crossplay in the settings of the Xbox itself IIRC.

You know that doesnt work right? Besides it should be optional for all players like in every other game.

I really don’t have the same feeling at all. I think console players underestimate themselves.

-You can run the game on 120fps on console which is way more than enough.
-On pc the game isn’t that smooth because it’s not nicely optimised at all compared to the console version (I own ryzen 7 5800x and rtx 2080 and the game stutter badly)
-I’ve played halo all my life and played halo 2/3/reach/odst/4/5 on xbox when it was just xbox titles, and it always has been sweaty, with hardtrying players.

  • I’ve reached 1800SR in mice and keyboard queue, and it’s way easier than 1600SR open queue facing controllers, for obvious reasons but that not the topic here.

I just agree with the sniper rifle, that is the only working argument right here, again, I play halo since 2003 and never stopped it and always reached the highest ranks, I think I know what I’m talking about, I’ve played with a controller for years, but always preferred mice and keyboard.

Edit : which can be also an argument is aim assist is stronger for controller on PC, due to higher framerate. It needs to be checked, no one did that on YouTube?

Tried that already.

Halo Infinite overrides it.

wow a other thread about crossplay when there are all a lot off then about the same point.

i think that the other threads about crossplay have make there point all that force way was a big fail and that it has to become a option to turn off.

and still this idea about that crossplay needs to become a option in halo infinite is all years old.
and since the launch off the matchmaking the proof has showing that force is bad for the game and that it needs to become a option or remove the only 2 options that are left.

Halo’s longer TTK usually keeps me from complaining about crossplay too much, but the existence of SWAT really makes me wish that I had control over crossplay. Sometimes I just like the feeling of going into a match against people who all have the same input device as me, and I don’t want to go into Ranked just to be able to do that.
