I think it’s pretty inconvenient to have to join a party in order to speak with people that are in your fireteam. I also miss the ability to be able to speak to people in free for all matches.
Apparently it’s a security issue to have lobbies. People could get your IP or something. Sucks but I don’t see why else they would have gotten rid of lobbies
You don’t HAVE to use party chat to talk to your fireteam. It just ensures that you won’t run across racist 13-year old kids that think jokes about darker-skinned peoples, watermelons, and the presumed correlation between the two are incredibly fresh and funny 100% of the time.

And the other games? Stupid reason… Never had a problem with the other (halo)games.

I guess this makes a bit of sense… still annoying though! In regards to Eleventh Sniper - I’ve never had a huge issue with that.
It feels like we’ve gone backwards, if I find someone annoying I just mute them.

Jes… and what about that not able to see other spartans ingame to prevent quiting.
Stupid choice they made… people will quite eventually ingame… it doesnt help.
All what it does is take away the fun of checking other spartans and their stats

I’ve literally never come across that scenario in Halo, what on Earth are you going on about?
You dont have to join a party to speak to people in your fireteam. You can talk to these people in pre and post game lobbies as well as during the game. I had a group doing just this last night.

It is inconvienant and stupid
It’s done because the dedicated servers aren’t up, the chat through the servers (which is why before the game starts, but after the dedicated starts you can hear people). I’m guessing they chose to not start up the servers until the game starts so that people who just sit in lobbies for hours on end aren’t taking up server space by doing nothing.
Um there is voice chat in game and in lobbies I frequently hear idiots blaring music or 10 year Olds squealing before a match.
They need to let us mute people in the pregame lobby. I miss seeing all the gamer tags and ranks displayed
