I am not complaining. I am just stating that I miss the oddball being a skull. I always thought it was funny beating another player to death with a skull. Halo 4 is a new game, so I accept that there is a new oddball.

Most likely for fiction reasons. 343 stated a big goal of theirs was to integrate multiplayer into the fiction of the universe. A flaming skull doesn’t make any sense. A forerunner artifact does.
That said, it was a freaking flaming skull! How cool is that!? I’ll miss it, too, but I think the integration with the fiction is pretty freaking sweet, personally. I mean, the oddball was a minor detail, and 343 paid attention to it. I think that speaks volumes about how much they put into accomplishing that goal of fiction integration.
