I miss the "revert to last checkpoint" option

I’m playing on an original Xbox one and every death is met with a loading screen. My hardware is considered dated now and I accept that but why isn’t there an option to revert to last checkpoint manually? Why do I have to die to reset?

This is actually a big deal for me, because I constantly find myself grapple clipping under the ground and getting stuck in the abyss, having to fully restart missions

Yeah, there are a bunch of little things like this that are just missing. My guess is that this kind of stuff was left out in the rush to get it released and hopefully will get patched in soon. But I won’t hold my breath.

A trick I’ve found is to fast travel to an FOB if I find myself stuck somewhere.

Not stuck stuck, I mean like I’m in a mission, like a real cutscene filled mission, inside of a forerunner building, and clip through the ground from a grapple slam, stuck falling unable to get back, forced to restart the mission, because I’m out of bounds but the game doesn’t reset for me being there, since I shouldn’t be able to fall through the ground in the first place

as someone who used the ‘revert to last checkpoint’ a lot, either because i died or missed something… it REALLY threw me off not seeing it in the game.
but hay, like most things, 343 will probably patch it into the game after a few moons

I know what you mean. For me, it sort of breaks the whole experience, having been there since the beginning but not in this one. I haven’t touched Halo: Infinite since Mission 2 and won’t be until they fix it. Coupled with the weird checkpoint and progress system, it’s the worst Halo for me, as it is now.
