It looked infinitely times better than the new one. The new color is very bright, and watching old gameplays makes it very easy to see how the game looked much better back then. If anything, can we get the blue color changed to Blue Steel with a cobalt secondary instead of Lapis with Blueberry? It’s a lighter shade than the dark blue it was changed from, but isn’t “bright” blue and still looks good.
Agreed with changing the color but didn’t they do that for Halo 4 with both red and blue having a lighter shade of their actual colors which didn’t look good.
The colors of the teams are intentional. The colors actually affect players physiologically, which can affect aiming and perception.
I agree. The old blue was better, considering it actually had a visible secondary colour. Wearing Recruit Charred with the new Blue scheme isn’t the same now that you can’t see the flames very well…
I miss a true purple color like all past Halo have had. This current one has way to much of a pink tint in it to be accepted as the purple color to choose from.
Forget the rest, I miss having Sage…

The new blue color is simply to appear more visible on Breakout Arena and Eden, nothing more, nothing to do with the results of that study.
The reason behind that result is that reds that are usually used are more intimidating in appearances than the blues that are usually used, which can throw off players the Blue players a little bit. The old Blue color actually looked far more intimidating than the newer one, appearing dark and serious than the very bright vibrant blue we have now… So, in that case Red has an even bigger advantage now than before if you’re going to look at it that way.

Blue team has always had a larger advantage in my opinion cause they have the ability to blend into more maps. In Halo 4 there was a map where blues would blend in perfectly with the forerunner backround.
i wonder if daltonic players can tell the difference.
in WZ darkstar when you go towards the sun, i cant see reds.
and when i play to much sometimes i dont know if im blue or red or both lol

Both Sanghelios Warzone maps and the bottom floor of Mercy give Red Team a gigantic advantage because they blend in so well to the background. Blue Team stands out so well now because, being the color of the “submit” button on the forums, how could they not stand out? It’s so bright and obnoxious, and the fix only really helped them on Eden and Breakout Arena while making them look so bad on everything else. Are they gonna turn Red Team a bright obnoxious orange color to compensate for that too?
I have mixed feelings on it.
But I’m just grateful they don’t look like the almost pink and baby blue colors they had in Halo 4.
I agree. mabye we should

“Hey, but that’s just a theory… A GAME THEORY! Thanks for watching”.

Thus is true, but…
The only physiological affect it has on me is that the shad of blue they use is to bright and it annoys me to the point I shoot the blue guy to eradicate his filth.
I really thought it was stupid to change the blue color to light blue. I don’t know what it is but it makes the game feel less real and gritty… Especially the shade of blue they use.
Honestly I never had a problem with the darker colors, never.
Okay… can we please talk about the glowing spartan thing? It’s so annoying that they are not affected by light or darkness… look it up, you’ll see what I mean. Or go on a dark map and use the Machinima flying mode and check it out yourself.
I know this works in favor of the competitive game modes… but it just looks stupid.

haha suck it blues
I never had any trouble seeing the old blue colour on Eden or on any breakout maps, and I liked it much better than the current one. If it was really that big of an issue, couldn’t they just have changed the lighting on those maps?

That’s my feelings. They already changed the lighting from the Beta to release, there’s no doubt they could have tweaked in a little more, or maybe not make a map with a color palette so similar to the team colors. They had a nighttime skyscraper map in Halo 4 that had a very blue skybox but all of the structures were white and dark gray so Blue would have worked perfectly there.

Yeah, Skyline was an absolutely fantastic map, especially since it was a night-time map that worked really well due to its lighting. You would think that 343i would have learned how to make proper maps after successes like that, but I suppose not…
Though I have to admit, I much preferred the look of Eden in the beta.

Let’s just make a totally white walled map with black outlines. Players can see everything and no color will blend in at all. (Assuming it’s just red vs blue, we’ll just cut the other colors to be safe. Don’t see any reason for them)
Solved all the problems with that one. Everyone will love me. I have no doubts about that.
Not a single doubt…
Not a single oneJk, this is the last thing I’d want to see happen to any game. It would be safe to say halo would lose its identity at that point.
