I miss the Halo-verse

I’ve been so Halo deprived it’s ridiculous, I’d love to play some ODST or Reach.

I refuse to return to BR:4 (halo) that game was just WAY too frustrating/ random.

My Xbone feels so off without Halo being on it

Wait I’m lost, are you complaining about the lore or are you complaining about the multiplayer? Or the lack of a (real) Halo game on the One?

Play Halo ODST or Reach then?

Titanfall’s great and so is Second Son and Killzone and Dead Rising 3 and whatever…

But it’s past time for Halo to come in and show these fools how it’s done. If 343 can just DELIVER on Halo 5, everything will be fine. More than fine actually. It would be pants-spankingly awesome.

I love me a whole lot of games, but Halo holds a special place in my heart because of its quality, it’s expansiveness, and its innovation. Nothing less than the best.

Dude, I think we both know that it’s time for something new. Those games are just too old and too played out (for now).

I miss the Lore and Games

I think he is just annoyed at the lack of anything Halo related. Sure, there is Escalation, but seeing as that is a monthly deal it doesn’t ease the pain. It seems as though 343i de-railed the hype-train this time around.

While I definitely miss having a good, new, Halo game to play, I’d be more than happy to wait and let 343i take their time with Halo 5. If it’s released in 2015, it’ll truly be fleshed out and show people how a Halo game should be.

…hopefully, anyway…

I think the hype would be much more palpable if 343i was actually close to ready to release footage.

It was clear that the “teaser” was a quick reminder to consumers that the Halo franchise is still around, and to not forget about it when considering which next gen console to buy.

We got little to no info, and a very vague cinematic. I wouldn’t be surprised if 343 would have rather waited until they had more to show.

They keep promising 2014, but a 2 year dev cycle doesn’t seem like enough time to deliver “a legitimate Halo entry”, especially with them continually supporting Halo 4’s online multiplayer.

One possibility I could see is a $30 multiplayer only Halo title (hence the reluctance to use the number 5 at first) to quench the fans’ thirst for another game (while fulfilling the 2014 promise) to buy time for a true Halo 5… but that seems like it possibly could be a bit too exotic for Halo.

I know how you feel. I thought Spartan Assault would quench that thirst but it hasn’t. Here is hoping a new halo game comes out soon.

I don’t think a 30$ multiplayer-only title is really the best way to go at all. Many players buy Halo mainly for the story, and releasing a Halo game without a campaign would ruin what made Halo so great in the first place. I mean, Titanfall looks like a fun game to play, but I know that me, and several other people, didn’t buy it because there’s no single player attached to it. It’s multiplayer-only, which can be a big turn off.

Plus, if they release a 30$ multiplayer-only game this year, what happens if Halo 5 releases in 2015? The multiplayer game that they worked so hard on will be completely outdated just a year after its release. Not to mention that the staff would have to have been divided between making both games, reducing the quality and content of both.

I agree with you, Hotrod. I just don’t see another way we’ll be getting a new Halo in 2014. I’m all for no in-between “Halo XBO” and just waiting until the true Halo 5, so it’s as polished as can be.

BUT

It’s just clear that MS wants a Halo FPS release in 2014 that stacks up to the other games. There has been too much talk of an un-numbered Halo for the XBO for me to think it’s all false.

You have a point there, a very good point. However, 2014 is the 10-year anniversary of Halo 2, so it wouldn’t be completely unexpected for an anniversary edition to be released in the fall.

Sure, it’s not necessarily a new game, but it’d be something to hold the fans over, no?

In any case, I’m sure we’ll find out at E3! I just hope that, whatever choice 343i makes, that it turns out to be the best choice quality-wise for Halo 5.

I miss it too! I really don’t feel like plugging my 360 back up (and doubt i ever will), but I just don’t enjoy playing any of these Xbox one games like I did halo. If they would of just made the console backwards compatable I’d have no problem with them waiting so long to make a new halo, but what am I supposed to do now!!! Whats the point of having an xbox if I cant play halo? Guess ill just have to wait, not too much longer till destiny comes out, hopefully that ones good… I found out about spartan assault and got excited for a minute, downloaded it and what a disappointment. Ok, I feel a little better now that I had a chance to vent, let the wait continue.

Don’t worry, after E3, I’m sure that something big will happen
Besides one part of the Halo lore inside the new game this year is coming for your entertainment!
Remake or not it will contain both of what you miss!
