Why do all the purists like Halo 3 MP? It’s so slow and floaty. The weapons sound like yoink. I’ll give you Halo 2 is classic but 3 is garbage compared to 4 and the new Beta.
Because it takes skill

Are you trying a rustle muh jimmies? Halo 5 sucks but halo3 is an amazing game. bullet physics etc are great. Halo 5 is a crappy twitch shooter with ads and sprint

Halo 4 lost 87% of its population six months after release. Halo 3 didn’t lose 87% until four years after release. You made great points though, good job lil guy.
Halo 3 beta was better. Halo 3 was a br fest and no it does not take skill to master a single gun that is good in all things.

Halo 3 was great fun- lots of great memories. For an unfinished, rough around the edges beta, Halo 5 gives gamers more options for movement- where games have been heading.

Actually that is literally what skill is.
To OP- if you don’t like what Halo actually is (1/2/3), then why should they make a Halo game to appeal to you?

Oh somebody is getting brave. My view is if you don’t like Halo 3 you don’t really like Halo. I don’t mind people who liked the beta but also like Halo 1/2/3 but if you don’t like the first lot what are you doing here ? That is Halo, so why are you playing.
After playing 5 all previous version are bland. Here’s my compensation plan for MCC: Bring back the beta till release. I wouldn’t play MCC even if it worked if I had the option to play 5 instead.

OP is a troll when he states Halo 4 and the Halo 5 BETA was better than 3. Abandon thread, it is useless to feed the troll.

I find it odd that you hate h5 but you’re in the h5 forums.
3 felt floaty, but if they gave it 4’s feel (felt more grounded and the sound design was better), it would be perfect.

Well, not really. I understand why he doesn’t like H3, if you just look from another perspective. I never played the old Halos till MCC. I came with Reach and played 4 as well. I know what you guys like in H3 and dislike in H4/5. In my opinion there’s no perfect Halo. I love the hit detection in the new Halos, the graphics & I see if the shields are broken or not.
There are a lot of bad things in the new Halos and H5 fixed a lot issues: weapons on the map, no loadouts, no ordinance drops, no perks, no jetpack, no armor lock, no bloom, competetive ranking system, 5-second respawn, the weapon balance (except of the zoom for autos), descope, low aim assisst. I really hate the low gravity in H3, I always think I’m a spring.
Of course, there are some issues in H5 Beta as well like: bit low TTK, large maps because of Sprint, flinch, smart scope improves accuracy, bullet magnetism/big hit boxes, grenades/nukes because of Sprint/Thruster & the kill cam can not be deactivated.
If you don’t dislike the, for me, negative things, you could say that the 5 Beta was perfect. Maybe I’m between the split community.

Exactly Im not saying that the beta was perfect but it was pretty great, this fixed a lot of issues with halo 4 and some neat additions and the beta is only a tiny fraction of a full game.

By bland you mean Map control, Skilled weapons starts, A relatively balanced sandbox, refined set of movement mechanics, Balanced Arena style maps, emphasis on power weapons.
What about any of this seems Bland?
My love of Halo has been a downward slope, starting with my nostalgic lan-party love of Halo CE, then slowly but surly each game iteration has disappointed me more and more.
Except Halo 5. All of a sudden, going back to MCC it feels slow, clunky, and stale. I like where Halo 5 is going, I just hope 343 can tweak it right.

-Define Map Control for me.
-Yes, this is a requirement, having this alone doesn’t make the game special.
-Yes, it is balanced, but it leaves much to be desired in terms of depth/variety.
-More is not the same as better. The movement of this game is a downgrade to previous titles, definitely not a refinement. Removing acceleration would be an example of an actual refinement, adding sprint just messes up the flow of the game.
-Because when I think “balanced arena style maps”, I think Eden and Pegasus…
-Same as weapon starts.
I don’t particularly care about what you can check off on this commonly posted list of attention-getters.
Having those things doesn’t make the game good, it’s how it executes them that makes the game good. All Halo games had those qualities, yet not all Halo games were of the same quality.

I am kinda like you though i actually did like reach and halo 4 for there own reasons, But i havent had this much fun with halo since playing the originals with my friends.

-Map control
> HaIo 3 is back said :
>
> Map control is when you have teammates positioned in key areas of a map that provide a good view of surrounding areas, usually places that are pretty defendable. This is strengthened by having control over power weapons like the sniper and rockets as well
-No it doesn’t make is Special But it does prove on key thing. 343 is Listening to fans One major complaint for halo 4 was unequal starts Well they pushed for a different direction for halo 5. This is a very good thing.
-A BETA THIS IS A BETA, the full sandbox is yet to be revealed, but if they have balanced this core set of weapons what do you think they are going to do with the others? Again this a very good to see, this is the most balanced the sandbox has been in a very long time, this is good.
-Removing acceleration would be refinement? but add more options and variety is down grading. You understand that to learn how to properly use these new mechanics as well as how to counter take a great amount of skill to master. Key word being skill. You keep saying it messes with flow but i have seen other counter this very well. Incounter Take the same amount of time to get to, Sprint has a balancing mechanic to prevent “Get out of jail free”. Map size is inconsequential.
-I have heard from several Pro plays Who agree that these map are very competitive One Prominent Halo gaf user describes Pegusis as being very “Quake”
- Same as Starts The beta is just that a beta, and does not offer the full amount of sandbox elements. But as far as PW’s go this beta was very well balance for what are available
The game Fact is While this beta had its issues, a ran very well played very well, and felt very familiar for many players.
