Does anyone remember when Halo’s maps weren’t just concrete and steel? What about maps like snowbound or sandtrap? Zanzibar was on a beach with a crazy spinning generator wheel thing. sandtrap was ancient ruins, acsension was a floating rock for goodnes sake!
What happened to the variaty in map design? Why is everything in a city or a generic scifi metal base? Why couldn’t we have had some thing like a map on a guardians back or in a desert or something (no backrohng scenery doesn’t count if the maps just metal again) imagine Halo 3 if every map was themes like foundry.
This is my biggest problem with 343i maps they are all just boring with no awesome enviroments, I used to freak out with excitement every time Bungie announced a new map pack. Halo has become a generic scifi shooter in design and it seriously kills my enjoyment while playing it, I know I can be the only one who feels like this is a problem.

That doesn’t mean they shouldn’t give Spartans a chance to adapt to new environments.

Oh!!! Bwee bweee bweeee! Shoots fired! Lol. Sorry about that lol. I get what you mean, I always show my friends all the cool designs in the older halos, and i’m not fond of the UNSC theme of the game.
Thing is although the maps suffer the most I feel like all of the designs are changing, look at the new vehicles for example the ghost and wraith have changed a lot and to be honest the Spartans don’t look that Haloish anymore either they are all starting to change

I’m not defending 343i’s laziness, Hell they’re taking community made maps and putting them in Matchmaking (I think)

Which due to optimisation look like a heap of junk, I’m sorry but as much as I like the idea of the suspended water outside the of escape from A.R.C still feels very generic inside the playable zone and i s covered in muddy textures with the same repeating metal structures, same goes for Apex 7 it may have the tropical theme but the grass is just gross and the lighting is plane terrible. Best of all look at the mountainous rock it is horrific and looks like an early 360 game.
Warzone maps are better themed but they look soo poor in comparison due to Warzone choking the Xbox one to death for resources.
