I’m not completely against customizing your armor. I do enjoy making my Spartan how I want it… To an extent.
Now with that said, I just miss throwing on the helmet, chest and shoulders. I think the side pouch, wrist, knee pads, and robotic arm were taking it too far.
I think it’s just a waste of space. Especially now, since you can change pretty much everything in Halo 4.
Next thing you know we’ll be building Skyrim characters in an FPS game. Worry more about it being a shooter, and less of an RPG.
Nothing wrong with personalization. It allows you to be different then the jerk who insults your mother in the pre-game lobby. Sets you apart.
Its an extra way to identify the player, and it just adds flavor to an already great game.
Its not a waste of space, if they can do it why not?
Also this armour is nothing like Halo, looks like a bulkier version of Crysis’s.
I honestly think 343 is going in the completely wrong direction except for the whole Story-Multiplayer intergration thing.
Everything else is stupid and Un-Halo. This is coming from a CE Veteran. They should’ve hired CE and Halo 2 veterans to help them with the game, only those type of people know what direction Halo has to go in.
Why are you complaining about this? your just making your own spartan which I think is pretty cool this has nothing to do with customizing like skyrim… This does not affect gameplay at all if you dont care what your spartan looks like dont bother with the customizing?
Im sorry but I totally disagree adding other things to customize add more “character” to your character. You want it to look like what YOU want not 4 things to choose from. In my opinion the more things to customize the better…
> Completely agreed.

you -Yoink!- purists. I am a Halo veteran and I am liking what I’ve seen so far. Stop categorizing people against their will.
It gets annoying, complicated, and very distracting from what’s Fun… And what’s important… And more importantly, Whats Not…
343i Should have gone back to Halo Roots (Which is a Great thing to do from time to time, to remeber where it all started and see how far it’s come)
Simplicity is better than something that tried too hard.
Would you eat a Chinese Restaurant that has over 500 Different food items and options to choose from. Some that aren’t even Chinese food. And there all rated 2.5-3.5/5 Stars… Or A Chinese Restaurant that Specialize’s in Only Chinese food, But has two or three items to pick from… But there 5 star dishes out of 5…
> Agreed.

Dont customize then, problem solved.
I love mixing and matching!
That said, there is nothing wrong with liking simplicity. Its your choice and thats totally cool. Just dont ruin hopes for people who like all that stuff, there isnt a double standard on this kind of stuff xP
Even with all the customizing of Reach, you still see a LOT of the same thing. Either someone wearing default armor and a Mark VI helmet, or someone dressed with Inclement Weather and Security shoulders.
Give me my colors, helmet, chest and shoulders. Make the choices good enough to choose from, and it will please anyone.
I don feel like having to change my cheek texture, blush color, and skin tone in Halo 5.
I loves my armor customization, I’m a very creative person, so for me the more stuff there is, the more awesome the creative aspect is, and the more I can get into creating my spartan and letting my imagination run as free as possible! I absolutely love to tinker with the armor pieces and find something that really fits me and since there is skins, that just adds another level of awesomeness and creativity! bring on the ultimate customization! >:D
Coming from someone who has been playing Halo since about release day, I like the new arors. They look good.
I DO have some hopes for a traditional style of Halo armor in Halo 4, but that’s only as far as the helmet. I like the new armor better than the Mark 6.
So, you’re complaining about having more options? That are purely optional and not required in any way? I fail to see the logic in that, but I suppose you’re entitled to your own opinion.
I would say that if you hated customization so much, you didn’t have to use it. But looking at your Halo Reach profile, I see that you customized your character as much as anybody else, which therefore takes away from your argument.
I too am a Halo 1 Veteran, playing the games in the series since 2001. I love the direction they’re going in with Halo 4, from the customization to the gameplay. So please, do not attempt to speak for me.
I don’t see what the issue really is with it. If they have time to add what kind of cod piece we want to use (okay, maybe there would be an issue with that), then I don’t see anything wrong with it. It isn’t altering how the gameplay works, just allowing you to have a very personal character within the multiplayer aspect of the game.
