I miss old cod (gasp!l

First off yes I prefer Halo but I still play COD and usually find them fun to play every now and then.

But new COD is just off to me. It doesn’t feel like a wannabe war game (that kinda fails but tries) but now it feels like a wannabe SciFi game that strips the COD core (I know that sounds funny). But it doesn’t seem like COD. Doesn’t even seem close.

Now I know Halo changes. Adds some less popular things but each Halo still mostly plays the same. Its changes may strip some Haloness but you could still pretty much feel some Halo. The weapons and vehicles are still iconic. Halo 5 for example is a lot more like a new Halo. More Halo than Reach or 4 (4 and reach still feel Halo to me)

The big problem I have is the weapons and movement. Now remember the guns in MW1/2/3.
Ak47
Mp5
M16
P90
-Yoink!-
Remington’s
Deagles
Baretttas
M4s

You could probably name or remember those guns. They exist. You know them from real life. Even if COD was the first time you saw them. You can still know tgem

Could anyone name any odd laser new age sci fi gun from new cod? I couldn’t even picture their names. I miss knowing the guns.

And movement too. What used to be straight forward is now trying too hard to be “cool”

Didn’t think I’d say this. But I miss modern warfare…

I like the old call of dutys too. my favorite is World at War. I think they should have stopped making call of duty games after modern warfare 2 in 2009

I don’t see the difference between the new COD and the old ones. They all seem the same to me

Kidding never played COD in my life

I think it’s strange that BO3 looks more like AW2 than their Black Ops franchise. Drives me crazy. I didn’t really like what I saw in AW and was excited for BO to have another game, but they have merged somehow.

CoD hasn’t been the same since Black Ops. I know some people still swear by BO2, but it was the beginning of the end. MW3 was good in that you finally finished the story arc from the Modern Warfare series, but the multiplayer was mostly junk. Ghosts, the best gun based CoD since Black Ops 2, had a few game breaking flaws. And AW just had me lose further interest.

I used to play COD, before it got super popular. It was way back when it was still focused on WWII, I played Big Red One and Finest Hour on my Xbox. Of course, those games were focused on campaign and not multiplayer, unlike now. I never got any COD games after COD 3, but I used to play Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops 1 with my friends and had a good time. I’ve thought about getting the newer games a few times, but I have a budget and there are many other games that I think are more worth buying.

MW3 was my fav online
