I miss armour abilities

There’s just no unique feel in halo 5 like there were in the others. In reach there were people with all kinds of differences:
there would be that one guy with armour lock dishing out damage to vehicles, jet pack to reach points where others couldn’t, hologram to draw out attention of enemies, etc.

With halo 5 it’s just thrusters - thrust a whole meter in any direction you like. I can ground pound, I can Spartan charge. It just left me thinking where’d they go? And then I remembered you can stick them to your armour for a single use bonus for (prepare yourself) … 30 seconds. But hey if you’re quick enough you can grab a double kill with active camp right?
Point being what happened to good old armour abilities. A classic halo perk taken and replaced with a stick on bottle lid

The emboldened sentence is exactly what AA’s were. The Halo you see now (minus the Spartan abilities) is pretty much actual classic Halo.
AA’s broke the balance of the game, which made it great for social play and it completely destroyed any competetive play. I won’t say competetive gamers outweigh social, but I am willing to bet the numbers are closer together than either side is willing to admit.
The fact is that e-sports bring in an ungodly amount of money, and the gamers who participate in and/or follow that scene probably make up a good 40% of the population, at least. If there is an FPS game that is not catering to an e-sports crowd then they are likely missing out on a huge chunk of revenue, a chunk 343 litterally could not neglect as Halo has been a competetive game for tournaments since Halo 2, and unofficially Halo:CE, and the second Halo:Reach was dropped from proffessional play, sales plummeted. yYes, Reach did start it, not H4 (though H4 was much worse I agree).
However, that was a longwinded digression into, monetarily, why game balance is so important. Halo is one of the last few arena shooters, which is what made i so competetice in the first place. There is zero guesswork in competetive play as everyhting is on the map, so it all comes down to the team and their ability to play and control.

I hated spartan abilities and always will

I never liked the old way Halo 3 did things, how you had to deploy items. Halo Reach was fun, but I don’t recall the evade ability being used on a map unless custom or MLG. Armor lock was just annoying. I like what Halo 5 has done so far.

Hologram was always my favorite AA, especially in Halo 4. The best times where when some noob kept trying to melee the hologram even though that actually did nothing and then I’d assassinate them.

Armor abilities felt pretty gimmicky. Halo plays much better without them. Whenever I thought I had someone with stickies or a splatter they would pull out armor lock and save the day. If I had a nickel for every explicative I would shout because of AA, I would be decently wealthy. The only one that’s worth bringing back would be Jetpack, but as a power weapon pick up or something.

Hell no please

only thing i miss is evade and thats all

This has to be a Troll… Right?..

To be honest, I would miss the AA too…if the Thruster Pack wasn’t my favorite ability of all XD
