I might just be getting old but...

After playing H3 throwback in arena, I feel like H5 is more balanced and plays a million times better without abilities.

Well it is your opinion and what you think, I haven’t played the playlist yet but I wouldn’t disagree when it was out earlier it was pretty good.

I enjoy both but boy howdy do the spawns in the H3 playlist seem bad.

I played the playlist. and I’m not gonna lie,It’s so weird not having sprint and the ability’s. I don’t know how we managed to survive without sprint LOL.

Buddy you and me both!

Halo 5’s multiplayer experience is so good even after nearly three years later, that I have a hard time playing any other shooters especially MCC multiplayer.

For me Halo 3 just seems so slow!

Halo 5 with sprint, jet pack, dash, is one hell of a fun experience. I also agree with your comment on the weapons. They are absolutely perfect in Halo 5.

Totally agreed with you here about H5 (love the core gameplay) & H3 (feels slow & a bit clunky now)…
… yet at the same time, the H3 playlist also plays great in H5!

Way more smooth than actual H3, and I really like that the shooting never gets interrupted – the “weapon lowering,” aspect actually makes the game faster without abilities when you look at kills/minute, yet it manages to do that while actually improving the fairness of spawns.

Either way, I think it would be a good move for 343 to include some form of classic playlist at any launch.
There’s a whole lot of people out there who would be perfectly content to just stick to such a playlist 90% of the time.

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I feel the exact opposite. I do not like the slower pace at all, but I do think that the playlist plays way better than Halo 3.

Agree with some people here I live H5 multiplayer (except for spartan charge) but think a throwback playlist even on rotation between HCE and H3 would be fun to have in social all the time

I prefer the normal Halo5 multiplayer, but I think this throwback playlist is a good idea.

Well, I’m pretty sure that it’s me who’s getting old, but I thought H3 throwback was the worst of all possible worlds: the sticky floor movement of H3 with H5’s horrific and uncontrolable weapons. Seemed like hell to me. I tested the observation by loading up MCC and playing a little Halo 3 and guess what? Movement was still annoying but at least the guns worked. Oh, and there’s nothing so much fun as being spawn-sniped on Narrows, but that’s a problem on either version.

That’s awesome to hear. I do like Halo 5’s normal gameplay though (mostly). You know, I think 343i for Halo 6 needs to have both classic and modern playlist to appease both sides of the spectrum. Not perfect but I think it’s the closest we can get to bringing the community back together in MP.

I think I should get back and play some MCC multiplayer when the update comes by.

I prefer it with abilities, but that’s just me. The Halo 3 playlist is still fun though. However, I don’t think all of people’s enjoyment can be attributed to it being classic style. A large part of it has to do with it being a new fresh experience with a different sandbox inside a two and half year old game.

I like the old and new. Change doesn’t bother me a bit, it just takes a little getting used to. Going back and playing the older games sometimes makes me wish I had abilities that are in H5. Like those damn crouch and grenade jumps… lol. I wish I had sprint in CE doing the How Pedestrian achievement… Huge map doing it without entering a vehicle.

Well to be fair, it wouldn’t be an accurate throwback if the spawns were good.

Rip you lol I haven’t played it yet but if it’s like halo 3 (most likely not) then it would be good I like halo 5s multiplayer better than halo 3s though

Feels like your feet are in cement. Don’t think the gun fights are as good. That could just be having to use the BR which still sucks.

I wish they would do away with Spartan charge or just implement a way to block it that leaves the charger vunerable. Other then that I like all the abilities in halo 5. Even the ground pound that people hate doesent bother me.

It’s good, yes. If Halo 5 had of shipped with such a mode (Of course with a more refined system, and perhaps classic elements such as duel wielding), many complaints may have been avoided.

I’m just happy they’re still updating the playlists.

I’m not even thinking about sprint when I play this playlist. It feels fine without it. I hit the thrust button a couple times out of habit though.

The playlist does have problems though. The movement speed could be raised up a little, the nades are nukes, H5 weapon mechanics, there are still really bad spawns and I’m not liking High Ground.

I believe that the playlist showcases the unnecessary “need” of SA’s. I definitely don’t miss Sprint, but absolutely miss TP. That doesn’t mean I think we have to have it, but that I have used it so much and for so long that it has now become a crutch.

I haven’t played it enough to have experienced the bad spawns. Overall this playlist is a good time.
