The forerunners had access to that, when you go back and look at there uploads, you can tell that those videos were pre recorded, how, there fireteam consisted of other forerunner players too.
It wasn’t until PVP came out were players started posting clips of them running into the forerunner players.
The will never admit it cause there embargo / contract, but they knew what the progression system was going to be, everyone did once we seen the insider build too.
I agree with this completely. If they want to charge obscene prices but allow us to earn items naturally via earned credits, I’d have zero problems with the current system.
I’d still have beef with the cores, but this would solve so many problems.
I am in favour of being able to slowly earn credits, maybe 100 for completion of the capstone weekly or through a preset series of season length challenges.
Feedback is completely necessary, but not all of it is as easy to action. Communication of feedback could for sure use work, as it puts the recipient on the defensive when emotionally charged language is used - words like “predatory” (referring to monetization) and name calling of devs as “liars” triggers defensive behaviour and are deleterious to creative solution based thinking.
Try and frame specifically what bothers you, specifically how it makes you feel, and a suggestion on how it could change that may alleviate this.
Personal example: I think the respawn algorithm may need some work, I feel very frustrated when I spawn within line of sight if an enemy player or with them behind me and do not have a chance to get my bearings. Other times it I spawn far from objectives and feel I spend too much time travelling to the combat area, leaving me feel my actions are futile. I am unsure how this can be improved.
Completely right, and we can’t blame 343 for this, but they might have the influence it takes to get Microsoft’s butt in gear with the needs of the franchise. The fact that Microsoft owns 343 is the sole problem. If we can take it to them, I would rather tell them straight up how bad they are devastating a gold mine of a product that could mean a great deal to them in the future if actually cared for.
I just don’t understand. This whole thing seems like crocodile tears to me. I haven’t seen a single person openly threaten or attack a 343 employee.
Edit: I understand Ske7ch being frustrated about receiving a brunt of the flack, but surely he knows it’s not aimed at him? It’s his job to interact with the community.
Yeah I get people are angry with certain aspects of the game but death threats and the like is just too far. I mean at the end of the day it’s just a video game. How sad are their lives that they go that far because of lack of content or mtx or whatever they don’t like. Seriously need to take a step back and look at how they’re acting about a damn game.
How iin the living hell am I defending 343? How is literally anything in my post defending 343 dude?
I feel like you didn’t even read my post and straight out accused me of defending 343…
How is any of this defending 343?
And apparently not all of the replies were positive, some Halo fans were getting personally attacked as well on top of being doxxed.
The point of my post was that the reason why the sub-reddit got locked was because although some of the replies were constructive, a lot of others were personally attacking both Halo fans and 343.
Of course it wasn’t a mistake. But I’ll give you an example, look at Cyberpunk 2077, the game launched in that state because of upper management. Some devs left CDPR as a result of that. It’s the same damn situation with 343, they’re headed by Microsoft remember? I was stating that whatever senior management tells them to do, and in this case Microsoft, they have to do it. Sure the monetization was planned, no doubt about it, but it was very likely planned by bigger suits.
Um, yes I know, its not toxic behavior. But personally attacking devs and fans, IS. When people feel the need to do that is when it spirals out of control, and people start acting like children., thats not toxic? Thats news to me then.
This will be the 4th unsuccessful halo 343 has given us. At what point do you say they suck? Or am I talking to a fanboy?….
4th? Halo Wars and Halo Wars 2 were successful in my book.
Where are all of these aggressive attacks? Where is the lack of civility? Where is the illegitimate criticism? Everyone one of these posts is almost copied word for word, breathless and hysterical about the state of the community as if someone’s just been murdered.
Relax, we’re criticizing a major corporation and a corporate product. It’s not an emergency, take a breath.
Who is attacking people? Literally the only personal attacks I’ve seen on this forum are being leveled against people criticizing the game.
I’m speaking in terms of the reason why the Halo-sub Reddit was shut down the other day.
So let me understand you, if I’ve been critical of Infinites MP which I’ve made perfectly clear in my OP, but I don’t say they suck or are outright just down bad, I’m a fanboy/shill because I’m not angry enough at 343. Sorry if I don’t understand that logically stupid statement.
Someone didn’t do they’re research. Halo wars was not 343 and halo wars 2 was a massive flop.

Summary
You are fanboy shill because you don’t think people have a right to be mad about a game that’s been utterly gutted. Kiss off with you’re social justice warrior smoke and mirrors. Mental health sure is a thing so if a AAA developer can’t handle criticism they should think about a career outside of consumerism
.
Halo Wars DE was 343. I only boot up DE so I only see 343. So thats on me. And by what standards was HW2 a flop? It was and still is an amazing game that is very fun to play and has no definitive flaws.
They updated the game and changed many units strength and weaknesses until the game became playable. The problem is it took them the better half of a year to do it and by that time most people stopped playing. This seems to be a common theme with this sad developer.
Within half a year? Thats crazy cuz ATN was released a year down the line with Firefight and those leaderboards are very long.
Leaderboards don’t show the pulse of the community or the player population.
I don’t see how anyone could give you heat for this and I agree with you.
There is wayyyyyyy to much crying and Butt hurt. The devs cannot cater to every single individuals wants and needs and to personally attack them and treat them as sub human is simply wrong and childish.
The immaturity even here on waypoint is asinine….there’s people here on these forums that have 0 respect for individuals as human beings and all that noise does nothing good for the community or the game.
It really unnerves me how some people are so immature they feel the need to personally attack people on a online forum. Like how small and insecure does one have to be in order to feel that that is okay and tolerable.
It’s disgusting and shameful and provides 0 value or positive feedback.
