I may be part of a small minority...

…but I actually like Halo 4. no game is perfect but I like the changes 343i made. I like it much better than Reach. Still too soon to see if it will play out better than H3 but so far its a nice & solid game. A few hiccups here and there with small things but all in all I think its pretty solid. I read post after post of all the bad things and rarely read a post about it being a good game. I like the MP and Campaign. Spartan Ops seems a little generic at times but its ok for now. I don’t know how many more missions I can take of going to the 3 waypoints and disabling something but for now I can stand it. I don’t know if in another 4 weeks of the same types of missions how much I will appreciate it but for now I am cool with it. So happy to see SWAT back. Kill cam is nice but many times the shots are no where near me but as 343i once said “KILL CAM NO LIE!” lol. We complain about certain games being the same game over and over every year and now a lot of posts complain that Halo 4 is not the Halo they know. We, as a community, can’t bash a game for not changing then turn around and say we don’t like the changes to Halo. This is why Halo is different from other FPS’s. Halo universe changes and things evolve, gameplay changes and I like the changes. its fresh. BTW I don’t mind other FPS’s but I am a Halo fan to the core. thanks for reading… you can begin flaming me now… happy gaming.

you’re not the minority. You’re part of the silent majority

The minority here are the people who hate it. Trust me, this game is a success and is being treated like one. The haters are a small fraction of the people playing.

This

And I try not to be so silent either

Glad a few have already stated it. The people who love Halo 4, for the most part, are not on here, but they are actually playing the game.

the people that hate Reach and Halo 4 can never be satisfied unless they make the game themselves.

Nostalgia corrupts their memory of halo 2 and 3, which they have probably also had many complaints with.

What you need to remember is that people who are enjoying the game are playing the game. People come to the forums to find answers to problems. People who have problems complain about them. I’m one of them.

When the intial wave of issues are addressed, the people who browse for fun and enjoy the game will be the majority again. I might visit less often. Right now I’m on to check and see the responses to one of my game issues.

I’m sorry did you guys interview every Halo fan for their thoughts on Halo 4? What’s that you didn’t? Ohh you mean you’re making up facts? Okay…

I like halo 4. The gameplay and mechanics are the same halo I know and love. Some of the new AA’s are cool, and the weapons are good.

My complaint are some of the little things that really, really didn’t need to be changed. No X’s on death is a pretty terrible decision by 343, but one that can be easily rectified.

Loadouts/Perks/Ordnance/Instant Respawn I’m less keen on. I have no problem with it being in the game, but it seems a bit gimmicky to me. The longer you play, the more access to ‘better’ things, and ordnance is random. I want halo to be a game of skill. PLayer vs Player. Team vs Team without playtime/luck being a factor.

By all means have these, but in their own playlists. I’d like classic playlists, as well as ‘Infinity’ playlists.

I’m of the belief that most people posting here like the game as well. There are just a few issues they have with the game they’d like altered. Some of those are bugs/glitches etc that 343 will implement, others are more 343 implementation decisions that some are not happy with (i.e. not being able to drop the flag, lack of customs support, friendly fire, staying scoped etc). Whether these will be addressed by 343 will remain to be seen.

Well said my friend. I personally love the changes they made, it refreshed the halo franchise for me. The “majority” who complain on the forums about it are just a select few of the opinion that believe theirs is the only that matters and therefore we all must concur. 343i did a wonderful job speeding up MP, and the campaign, in my opinion, was riveting.

I was a bit leery of a Halo without Bungie, but 343i has sold me on their ability to make Halo, and the next Xbox.

hmmmm…yes…this is useful. thanks for your deep insight and good luck with your goals in 2013.

I like it so much that I dont have much time to come on here and fight with the haters.

Halo 4 is my favorite Halo of all time. I am not gonna pick up any other of my Halo games for a long while. I just wish the people who love it would speak up more, they’re the majority, who are unfortunatly, a SILENT majority.

I love the games… I just dont like going on these forums because it is full of annoying haters.

Oh you mean like your reply which is irrelevant? My post has a point, there’s no way to tell whose in the minority, it’s just a cop out response for people to say to make ones opinion not matter. Thanks for your luck though  good luck to you too buddy!

I agree, got to be my favorate Halo game since Halo 2, and that’s something.

> you’re not the minority. You’re part of the silent majority

Overlooked yes. Bashed on? Probably. Silent? No.

Otherwise, this.

However, i cannot call myself a good Halo fan if i just looked at the positives and ignore the downsides/all those who CONSTRUCTIVELY do so. While the good certainly outweighs the bad this time around, those mindlessly praise the game are as bad those who bash on it for no good reason. You can’t improve on a game with trollish hate or dismissing the problems with comments like “haterz gonna hate” or “have faith in 343, Halo 4 is perfect adapt”.

The game has flaws, some of them game breaking that need to be addressed in the future. Others are not so big but are worth consideration but overall my experience with Halo 4 is indeed a positive one.

The recent poll on the site indicates most people think Halo 4 is the best Halo ever, and I agree. It has a few issues that need fixing, but just because people (Respectfully) criticise those aspects doesn’t mean they don’t like the game, it just means they want it to be the best it can be.

And you certainly aren’t a minority.

Okay, here’s the reason why some people hate Reach/4. I don’t HATE either of them, but they definitely don’t get me going like 2 and 3 did. You can also rest assured that I’m not blinded by nostalgia because I spent the last couple months before H4 launched playing H3.

The Halo I got used to playing was based on being a bare-bones, equal, skill-based game. Everyone started with the same stuff, everyone had the same opportunity to get to the power weapons, and the entire game was about one team having superior map and weapon control. If you couldn’t pull yourself back into the fight, then you probably flat out weren’t good enough against the people you were playing. If you were getting beaten, you’d have the opportunity to regain weapon control when the power weapons spawned. Sometimes that was all you needed to tip the fight back in your favor. Halo was a balanced, yet unforgiving shooter.

Now, people spawn with different weapons, you can drop power weapons on your own head, an obvious “best” strategy is basically to camp and force long range engagements with the DMR, and there is no concept of weapon control. Everything about Halo that made it feel like Halo (to me, at least) is gone.

I’m not saying anyone is wrong here. If you enjoy the game how it is, more power to you. Just try to understand where the negative part of the community is coming from. I’m hoping they put in some classic playlists to appease us. Right now, it feels like a part of the hardcore, long-term community is being pushed aside in favor of the more modern style of FPS, and it doesn’t exactly feel like a fair reward for putting time and money into the franchise for years.
