I MarcoStyle NL vs BigHugmonster

Foreword

Since I MarcoStyle NL had lost badly a while ago to BigHugmonster on Chasms they decided to play some games. I MarcoStyle NL is TS 50 Anders player, but he is pretty good with other leaders too. BigHugmonster is my real-life friend. He plays mostly with Brute Chieftain and has TS 42.

Couple of months ago BigHugmonster destroyed I MarcoStyle NL on Chasms about 10-1. Also I MarcoStyle NL was destroyed by QU1CK2K1LL in Anders vs Brute tournament 8-2. So I was expecting somehow even matchup.

Serie 1 - BigHugmonster (Brute) vs I MarcoStyle NL (Anders)

Game 1 - Barrens
Game 2 - Blood Gulch
Game 3 - Blood River
Game 4 - Chasms
Game 5 - Pirth Outskirts
Game 6 - Release
Game 7 - Tundra

NOTE : The games do not contain any comments. This is due I did not play on those.

Afterword

There is 7 more games. They switched the leaders and played once on every map. I will post those videos later.

sometimes i just play terrible  not this time 13-1 blitches :stuck_out_tongue:

Those were GGs. HugMonster is a good player but I notice he makes lots of bad decisions that cause him to lose. Like in the Release game he was in a good position but he recalled his leader to take on the tanks alone and got him killed.

Also, Marco has some sick cryo bombs lol

Nice

on the pirth game, whyd you sell the expo?

I believe high-level Anders players do sell the expansion if Brute goes temple first. I think it is due that expansion will fall against rush. However that forces Brute to go temple first and gives Anders a economy lead.

I will ask this from I MarcoStyle NL to get correct answer.

Yeah, you usually can’t hold the expansion if the Brute goes temple 1st. So it’s best to queue it up, then cancel and instead make early hogs if you scout temple 1st. Barracks 2nd on the expo holds any basic brute rush, but most good Chieftains will only make 1 brute if they see you do this. Then they’ll make a hall and make jackals which counter the flamers. It’s still not an unwinnable situation if the Chieftain kills the expo, but you’re better off not making the expo to begin with. Reactor 2nd or 3rd gunner hogs force a temple 1st Chieftain to make early turrets and play defense for a while, which destroys his economy, and allows you to take a delayed expansion safely.

i see.
i guess ive never played a high level brute lol.
i usually send hogs to camp his lift and go barracks first. then make a marine to take the reactor.
i know ill lose the expansion and lose the reactor, but i can get grenadier faster and usually the brute wont build turrets.

i suppose ill start recycling the expo if i see temple first from now on

I do the same. I take the expansion always and build barracks first. I will change my build when it is necessary (my TS rises and opponents are better).

P.S. I MarcoStyle NL replied the same thing - much shorter - what bb2010 already told us.

Wild Arms taught me to go barracks first, camp brutes lift with two hogs, and spam flamers. He will not have enough money to vortex and if you get two good rams off the first brute he will be -Yoinked!-. Send one hog back to kill the red bar brute.

That might work if the Chieftain goes directly to your expansion, but top Brute players will collect the crates around their base first, waiting for their first brute to pop out. By bringing the brute with the Chieftain to the expo, he can easily protect it with his vortex. Pirth has tons of resources on it, so if you end up sacrificing your hogs to ram 1 brute squad, the chieftain’s chopper will get so many crates from around the map. In my opinion, there’s no need to take a risk like that, especially on a map like Pirth where you have a sizable advantage even if you play a standard game.

Where in the h*** is Wild Amrs FX nowadays? Playing Dynasty Warriors 7 all the time? O.o I loved his strategies and ideas. He also proved those by beating top players and playing himself to top page with his GearsOW HeAd gamertag.
