I made the map "Streets" from Halo infinite in Halo 5: Forge

Note: Halo 5 doesn’t have a fov slider unless you mod one in on PC so the map may look slightly different if you play on higher fov

I made this map for a couple of reasons. My friend wanted me to see me recreate an infinite map in halo 5 forge.

I wanted to let my forge skills stretch it’s limbs after not forging for a while. Getting prepared for the forge that’s to come

This also might be good way to test out suggestions on the map streets that could be made to 343 since we don’t have Halo infinite forge yet. Like weapon placements or map changes.

I also wanted to see what Halo 5 gameplay would be like on an Halo infinite map as well as try out weapons that are currently not in infinite.

I placed weapons that resembled the weapon selection in halo infinite as close as possible

The map is to scale (as close as I could get it). The map was also built in 4 days.

How I built it: I used two screens and played Halo infinite on one screen and played Halo 5 forge on the other screen. All on the same PC.

Halo 5: Forge is free on the PC. And ofcourse if you have Xbox you can also veiw it there too. You can find the map when you search my GT: DeadCassette. It’s called

“Halo infinite Streets”

There is also a gametype I made that mimics Halo infinites movement. It’s called

“Halo infinite FFA”

Both the map and gametype are bookmarked and in my files. For whatever reason you don’t see the name “Halo infinite Streets” then it’s the first file that says “parallax” in my files.

Change the toggle to teams on if you want regular team slayer.

Let me know what you guys think of how I did on the map. This was a fun little project to do. It was interesting to see how the map design worked with Halo 5.

I think you should do a clip of you walking around the map and looking around and post link here.

Reason being I refuse to even pay for Xbox live now because of this shambles so now I can’t forge or do customs (or anything) in H5 :joy:

Can walk around some of mine that I’m never going to see again too :joy:

There’s something off about the middle lane that I can’t put my finger on, but otherwise this is a really good reproduction of the Streets map. Your lighting job was fantastic and it’s very close to scale!

Thank you. I noticed that too. It seems a little too wide but I measured it and it’s pretty close. I think it needs a lot more details in the middle because the actual map there is a lot going on visually in the middle where as this map doesn’t have as much detail so the middle might not look as “filled in”.

I could clean up some area to get more piece count but I used over 1400 pieces to make this map. I’m happy with the way the lighting came out too.

I got a short clip but idk how to share it. I guess I can go through YouTube but I wish there was a way to directly add the video into the post

If you have the Xbox app, go to your clip and click ‘copy link’, then paste it here.

If not - no idea :joy:

Also, need to have clip’s privacy set to everyone

Nice! And good use of the visible boundaries, I have a habit of going over-the-top with those sometimes but they’re so useful.

I miss H5 forge. Hopefully infinite’s will be better again so can make some remakes and my usual weird warmup things.

I think forge will be the make or break for me.

That was a much better walkthrough than IGN’s :joy:

Great lighting, you even used emissive blocks for the wavey lights in ‘C’.

Very nice.

I’m nitpicking but I want to highlight some areas you should take a second look at. I don’t own Halo 5 so take this with a grain of salt.

  1. At 0:43 it might be just the lighting but is that room you enter the right size? There’s the behind the counter area on your left but the area around the pillar on the right feels more spacious than in Halo: Infinite.
  2. 1:02 and later at 2:50 is that area the right size? Feels like the hallway is a little too wide.
  3. 1:39 look at the blocks between the stairs. In Infinite those blocks in the middle and on the side of the stairs are not cover. They block the waist and have flora that covers the head. They’re only cover you can crouch behind when the opponent has just entered the room and isn’t close.

One last thing. If you want to go nuts and be an overachiever you could include the part of the map that is currently blocked off. Streets has two semi-secret paths that aren’t used anywhere but are still fully furnished.

Great job overall. The map is a pretty good copy.

Yep. Great job. Forging skills for the win!

I never really got into Forge. How long does something like this take to build?

Great job.

i replied to you in video with a comparison of the maps in both games. the back hallway needs adjusting and some of the walls could be pulled in slightly.

  1. yeah they are waist high. good catch.

thank you. and wow i didn’t know about those secret routes. im definitely adding those in

thank you. if you have the right equipment forging a remake is pretty straight forward. i used a big tv as my second screen for when i looked at halo infinite and then my gaming monitor when i forged on halo 5. i have also been forging with this forge since it first came out so knowing all the items are second nature. with all of this it takes a couple of days to get something fleshed out and playable. the chunk of the work was done in 2 days for this map while the other 2 was spent on how it looks and the lighting. if i wanted to i could spend another month fine tuning the map to perfection.

it really all depends on what the map is too. streets is easier than other maps because a lot of the geometry is simple. the only difficult parts are the curved lanes but with some work they can be done. the other hard part is measuring. a lot of the time spent is switching off to both games making sure you get the distance correct and even if you get most correct, one piece could be wrong and you have to re do the whole thing so it all lines up.

Damn, that’s really good. Feels like you’re a bit short, stuff might be taller than usually, but then again I play on 120 FOV, but this is overall very well made. If Infinite’s Forge isn’t better than Halo 5’s, I hope people riot. You could honestly remake the BTB maps, but change the hills and width so vehicles can drive easily anywhere, and put vehicles at base. You could turn their awful BTB maps into real BTB maps. It’s one thing to clone a map, it’s another to remake it with improvements. I think Halo Infinite is in sore need of map redesigns. Unfortunately, it would take 343 years to get around to doing it, but it would only take you probably a week. Difference in skill I guess.

Really good work, nice job.

When the forge comes that’s exactly what I plan to do, fix all the dev maps. Might try a btb map out now to see how those changes you suggested would look like

Well if you decide to take it seriously,

Highpower needs to be more like Highlands from Reach, which means more land, more buildings, more rooms, jumping from building to building, teleporters, and that stupid useless bridge building in the middle area needs to have rooms too, with the bridge having windows for snipers. Also, no stupid kill barriers. You want to be able to grapple up hills and stop the flag carrier and air vehicles, since you’ll want more room to fly. Also remove that stupid rock by the middle area by the pit that prevents tanks from going through. Get rid of a bunch of those damn rocks. Make the cave area have more paths that go farther down the map both ways like Blood Gulch. The base buildings need to be larger with more floors and indoors areas, where you can spawn tanks and vehicles in the garages.

If you feel like doing Fragmentation, it needs to have all the hills climbable by vehicles, so you can drive a Warthog up to the doors to guard them while you unlock them. You can barely get a ghost over there. Too many walls, and unclimbable hills. Turn the rocks into rampable hills. The bases again need more floors, perhaps underground tunnels that lead to the middle room, since the middle room is so worthless. While at it, the middle room should have upstairs with broken walls to snipe and climb out to get on top of the hill. With grapples, there’s no good reason height should be so limited for vantage and flight. The stupid trenches also need to be wider so the Scorpion can drive through better. Those arches at base that bridge to the doors also have the ramps facing the wrong way, so vehicles can’t drive up them and drive down the bridge to the doors. Can almost back up a Mongoose around it, but it sucks. Drivable hills are a must. Gotta give the middle area upstairs a gimmick like Last Resort from Halo 3. Not saying a ferris wheel, but active camo spawns downstairs in mid anyway, so may as well make that the vantage room, with multiple entries through, so snipers get wrecked by people sneaking up on them that know they’re cloaked up there

Just a list of changes I’d make personally

I think I’ll tackle high power since it’s the worst of the two maps. It could use a lot of work.

The changes you suggested would completely change all the buildings. The land would pretty much stay the same Id just have to remove the rocks you talked about. I might just redesign the buildings from scratch. The bridge building would have to be redesigned as well. It can be done tho.
