I’m worried earnable credits (will be/ is) underwhelming

I’ll start by saying the obvious. 343 promises are like being in a bad relationship and your partner just keeps saying they can change in a couple days… weeks… months It just doesn’t really make sense. If a change like fixing BTB takes 2 months I’m worried about actual content

5 months for them to add earnable credits isn’t really exciting. I don’t know if I’ll have faith in this game by that point. So it doesn’t really do anything for me. Any successful live service game could implement a change like this within days…

There’s a few ways they could implement earning credits including making it tied to the: battle pass, challenges, game wins. Whichever way they decide to implement it. Almost certainly there will be some sort of arbitrary cap on points

My suggestion would be to make it a flat rate based on game wins or performance, with no weekly limit to reward grinding. Reward players playing, and let the whales be whales.

Doing this will make your game look better because everyone won’t be wearing the same exact same armor and couple free skins. Will make players that just wanna buy a game once happy. And can even work to entice players who wouldn’t interact with the shop to engage with it, perhaps even closing the gaps on goals by spending money.

I’m not trying to make it sound like you don’t understand marketing, but players are turned off by obvious greed, change, and limiting expression. And that’s everything the previous experience was. You’re going in the right direction, and I know everyone’s working hard. But it also feels like nothing is happening at the same time lol

Easy enough mistake to make, no harm done

You are going to get enough credits to buy the next season’s battle pass.

Why would 343 then give you enough credits to buy a plethora of cosmetics, basically bypassing the system designed to make them money?

Have you not played a single other game in the past 6 years?

If you’re expecting 343 to give you like 100CR just for playing the game, yeah you’ll be disappointed. If you set your expectations more in line with 1000CR per season you will be much more insulated from any feelings of disappointment lol

I’m guessing that they’ll do something like put enough credits in the premium battle pass that you can buy the next battle pass with credits if you complete it.

I would not get my hopes up with 343 that they’re going to do something super generous with earning in-game credits.

It’s almost like you didn’t even read the thread. I know personally I go into a lot of games where everyone is wearing free armor

If there’s a huge chunk of people not engaging with the content, giving them an alternative route is better because they might actually bridge the gap and pay money in the long term to achieve a big armor set or whatever. Companies do this all the time…

I think 10-20 credits is reasonable per game

What game gives you 10-20 credits per match?

LMAOOOOO. Yeah youre dreaming bud.

Let’s call it 10 credits for a win. 0 for loss.

Average 50/50 wins would be 100 games for 1000 credits which is what? One armor set? For a game that has no progression system or items to earn in the bad game. Sounds reasonable lol

I’m just putting out ideas. Any system that’s limiting to earning credits will discourage grinding which is something halo infinite needs to retain player interest lol

I’ll be dreaming playing mcc too lol

You need to drastically reduce your expectations or you’re going to be disappointed

Wouldn’t be anything new with this franchise rofl

I understand what you’re saying, but its a pipedream. Nobody is going to basically pay you to play the game. Cosmetics are going to be how they recoup losses from basically giving BP away. Thats why they are launching this individual items store now, so they can see how much they can charge people for individual items without them boycotting the game.

I’ve said it several times already. If they can get people to shell out $10-12 a season for cosmetics, they aren’t going to care about the cost of the battle pass.

FTP is exactly that. It says nothing about being free to look unique, you’re going to have to pay for that privilege.

You are delusional if you think they are going to give away 10 Cr per match, at the most they’ll let you earn 1000 Cr per season so you can buy the next battle pass, which is fine in my opinion.

They’ll be nails to earn because they wanted to profit from infinite. Now they have to find a way to make items free without it being easy or even moderate.

The battle pass will give some credits at certain levels, that will be it. Maybe enough to get a shop item or two (in the whole season).

There’s no way they’re going to pay out credits every match.
