I’m really excited about Halo infinite

I was first introduced to Halo CE in 2003/2004, when my buddy got an XBOX after his PS2 crapped out. Started playing at LAN parties in a house with TVs and people in every room. XBL came out in 2005 and it was Halo 2, all the time. I still play with 5 people regularly who I met online going back to 2006-2007. We’re in our late 40’s early 50’s, the old man is 61. He’s not good haha, but he’s passionate! He loves Halo. We all do. We still play (Halo 5) 10-15 hours a week. Pretty much every day that ends in Y.

With all the talk of the Slipspace engine, a spiritual reboot of the art style and knowing the game will work on current generation consoles and PC so more people can play, has me excited for the future of the game. I’m so thankful to Bonnie and 343I for saving the game and putting so much into it, evolving the game and keeping it alive. The idea of a large map Halo campaign that will create different experiences for each player who goes through a level is awesome. I hope it’s not too much like Destiny, I get board in that game looking for things to do, but if it’s a Halo campaign with out a linear path I’m excited to see that.

I would love a new experience that makes me feel the way I did in CE, running up the side of the mountain at night, a waterfall in the distance, a moon light starry night and alien drop ships flying low overhead. Ominous music slowly building up as I encounter grunts and Elites for the first time. Truth and reconciliation was probably my most fond memory of the CE campaign.

i am a little nervous about how Infinite will be monetized, but I’ve been happy with how the req packs are used in Halo 5 compared to how other companies and their games handled that sort of thing. I’m cautiously optimistic there.

I love super fiesta in Halo 5, because matchmaking is easier for lower skilled players, so we have fun. I never liked flag games until I played Husky Raid. That’s true for my entire group. My group isn’t good enough to control power weapons, our hand eye coordination isn’t as good as the better players. Getting to play with all the games power weapons is the most fun we have ever had in Halo matchmaking.

I’m hoping Infinite is what I think it will be, in that it will have something for everybody. A great story and a great campaign, with both multiplayer playlists in social, that’s fun for lower skilled players, and yet offering playlists that challenge higher skilled, more competitive players. More people playing because of compatibility with PC and XBOX 1’s, to have more players in the pool for balanced matchmaking. Fingers crossed! It all sounds amazing so far.
