I’m grossed out and shocked by the word: Infinite!

I watched the unexciting trailer, which was nothing special compared to 343’s previous epic trailers…

And from the first moment I was cringing… cringing… cringing…

CGI

The CGI looks absolutely horrible. Seriously, it’s a major step down. The marines didn’t even look like badass, more like men in pajamas.

Master Chief looks strange… seriously strange…

The animations for the dinosaurs looks fake and unrealistic…

Basically the trailer is telling me “I’m no longer realistic like my predecessor games”.

Halo 1-4 were realistic. Halo 5 was somewhat cartoony with good cutscenes but bad level optimisation. To this day you can still watch Banana trees in Warzone look wierd…

I want realistic, BAD–Yoink- cutscenes like in Halo Wars 2. I want beautiful, smooth abd REALISTIC environments like Halo 3 and 4. I don’t want a funky cartoon!

The Title

343 is shockingly obsessed with the Infinity. So obsessed they’ve decided to name the next major title “Infinite”! This is a joke.

Does anyone remember the movie Forward Unto Dawn??? That movie had absolutely nothing to do with the Forward Unto Dawn and that made the the mere title of the video cringeworthy.

Halo Infinite is a bad title because it has nothing to do with ‘Infinite’. What’s going to be so Infinite in that game? I suggest an immediate re-consideration of the title!

Also I suspect all future Halo games with be labeled with the ‘Infinite’ title. This is a disgrace! I just want HALO! I don’t want Infinite anywhere near my beloved franchise!!!

Summary…

I’m worried… just on those two things alone are enough to cause alarm.

I assume the entire Halo community is going to LOVE Halo Infinite already because everyone is apparently far too impatient for the next FPS and so anything will do, right?

Even if Halo Infinite has a good story and multiplayer, the title is still a SIN because it’s based only 343’s obsession with the Infinity. There doesn’t seem to be anything practical or logical in the title.

EDIT: I just re-watched the trailer. Maybe I was just freaking out too much about the CGI, doesn’t look to bad. More realistic than I thought. It’s just I was in the airport when I watched that for the first time and I immediately wrote my initial impression. However I’m still arguing the TITLE “INFINITE” is an immature choice for 343 and it needs to change.

I do agree that they should have just called it Halo 6.

The marines look awesome? They’re a HUGE upgrade over the garbage halo 4 -5 marines.
Halo 1-3 were always somewhat cartoony, halo 4 and 5 were the ones that literally ruined the artstyle. I’m glad it’s going back to it’s roots.

A while back they said they wanted step away from the numbers, that was why the halo 5 had the extra part in the title, it was a transition.

If it was called Halo 6: Infinite I would be fine with it. I don’t understand why they would move away from the numbers though.

So far, just a teaser has been shown, and you hate it? The trailer doesn’t have to be over-the-top and colorful to catch your attention, you know. It was simple and gave us something to look forward to. And for the art style, I’m sorry to inform you that you’re apart of the minority on that one. People have been begging for the classic art style to come back. I also find it quite absurd to call a game like Halo’s graphics realistic. You’re 500 years in the future, it doesn’t need to look realistic.

The original Halos 1 to 4, even remastered, weren’t so cartoony you’d say “hey it’s a cartoon”. Looks like real life.

And I posted an EDIT. I actually might not mind the cartoony look cuz it does look farely realistic in it’s details.

Probably so they don’t end up like final fantasy. Halo 12 just doesn’t have a great ring to it

Criticism can be healthy, but only if it’s constructive. This wasn’t constructive, mate. It’s maybe two steps away from just being an extended version of, “It’s bad because screw you, 343i.” It’s okay not to like the art style, or anything else about the trailer, but try to express that diplomatically and politely; don’t just tear things down because you can. You’re talking about something made by artists who want to do a good job, even if they’re getting paid to do what they love.
