Yikes. Huge twitter Karen vibes coming form this one. Take a chill pill, you’re nothing more than a customer.

Microsoft and 343 made the conscious decision to release the game the way they did and release a severe lack of post launch content/fixes. Halo fans are justified in expecting more from what was once Microsoft’s biggest franchise.
why arent you happy? You are toxic. Why arent you happy we got a halo game with the biggest budget and a generous 6 years of development time which doesnt even have half the content halo 3 launched with and is filled with microtransactions and no live service? Man be more positive.
I dont feel like reading through everything but heres my view on your post OP.
you sound like a troll
Seriously just no. What 343i did was not ok. They straight up lied to us about the progression system and we’re expected to be ‘thankful’ just because a certain armour looks ‘pretty’. This is the same company that literally added gambling into Halo 5 and added pay to win elements.
I gave them the benefit of the doubt with Halo 4 when they were a new studio when most complained and I ended up stating Halo 5 as the worst in the series and yet I kept playing till I got max rank and supported Infinite at launch…but there has to be a point where I have to say enough is enough.
This is the same company that left MCC in a broken mess for a long time and yet they were oddly rewarded with Pizza for leaving it in one of the worst mess’s I’ve seen in any Halo game and don’t even get me started how they don’t seem to care about the spawn camping on that game.
If I have a problem with anyone at 343i it’s the management because they have been poorly managing the IP for a while. Things at 343i need shaking up or Microsoft need a new studio. Some fans go too far but the thing is 343i need new management that actually care about the IP.
yeah and this is very very sad. from stories to the gameplay changes aka changing the core halo formula, they basicly cant do anything right
Halo Infinite has gotten the worst criticism by far of any Halo title and I can agree that some fans are excessive with their irritations but this is also the most poorly managed Halo game I’ve witnessed. Most Halo fans including myself paid full price for a campaign and above depending on the edition purchased, and it was still released with bugs, unable to replay missions, and missing co op which we only just received a buggy beta for and lets be honest we’ll prolly get the same beta on official release with patches months down the road.
So along with the botchy campaign, which I did enjoy but was not satisfied being that we waited an additional year for it’s “full” release, I get the frustration. If you buy a product from a retail store and it doesn’t perform to your expectations or as described, wouldn’t you be frustrated knowing you can’t return it as most games are such a hassle for refunds? I don’t think most of us expect a game to be perfect, glitches and bugs aren’t new but I disagree that as a consumer if we are paying full retail price for a product, it should perform as we expect it to with minimal issues., and unfortunately Halo Infinite had multiple.
Splitting multi-player to make it a free-to-play experience was a mistake in my opinion. I have been playing since CE on xbox as well and I would say this is one of the best multiplayers I have experienced in a Halo series. But to be realistic, a lot of new players aren’t going to be as forgiving to these problems like true fans of the series like yourself and I might be. In a AAA FPS title, desync is a big problem, weapon jamming, and glitchy modes at launch are big problems for long term success. Halo wasn’t the only game suffering from a problematic release, look at battlefield and the latest COD as examples. As true of fans we are, we are still consumers and should have expectations for a product we put our hard earned money towards.
You make light of a lot of cool features 343 has introduced, but sorry to say its the core gameplay and variety of options that keep most of current and new players interested, not just just how “-Yoink!-” a cosmetic looks. Not everyone likes to play tac slayer or land grab, but yet may be forced in weekly challenges if they want to level up and may have to pay for extra challenge swaps if they run out. Ironically, the only thing I’ve noticed on the multiplayer side of Halo Infinite to work as designed from the start is the shop, which has pinned customization into a corner and another reason why many players have left. Player expression is important. It’s funny now that cross-core is open for Visors players are noticing how double or triple overs they have of the same visor iterations just with different names that would be barely noticeable during a match. I respect the changes though, hoping for amour coatings and helmet swaps next.
All that I shared is coming from a respectful place although I had my disagreements. Halo Infinite was an incomplete game on release with multiple buggy issues that effect player experience on both campaign and multiplayer sides. Halo Infinite is not the only AAA game in recent years to get bombarded with criticism when a game is released poorly. If the game isn’t ready, just take necessary time to get it right, because once it’s out there, we the players and consumers are expecting a near perfect product as they are a business and expecting full payment for that product.
I think 343 is doing a great job and I’m quite thankful for how fast they try to add or fix things. I don’t understand why so many people are angry that 343 tries to fix something they did. Would you rather it stay broken and unpleasant? And besides, if you dislike them that much, you wouldn’t have stayed for 3 main games to release and proceed to play them enough to give a full page about it.
Your thanks are directed to the cosmetics of the game - armor, accessories, etc. But other? Are you grateful for the lack of synchronization? For broken matchmaking? For lack of adequate progression? For the second season, which lasts 6 months? For the lack of a forge? For online, which is lower than in battlefield 2042?
I truly love this Halo and it is the best 343 has done so far. But the criticism they receive is warranted. The game is dying and is more likely to be abandoned than revived. It seems every time 343 makes a Halo game they hit the reset button on it and start over. We seem stuck in this cycle.
“We as Halo fans.”
Who’s “we”? Stopped reading there.
You may think this is the best installment from 343, but I would argue that you are objectively wrong. 4 & 5 are far better in nearly every aspect. Infinite is an incomplete, rushed money grab.
100.0000% agreed. Infinite? More like TRASHfinite. People really overrate this game to death especially because of nostalgia for Bungie.
You may think they are doing a great job, but the numbers don’t lie and overall player count and community interaction would be far greater if it was a well made game from it’s release. The things that we are waiting for 343 to “add and fix” are things that should’ve been in the game since day one. Nobody wants a game to stay broken and unpleasant but it’s been about 9 months now and I’m still firing rockets that don’t explode on impact? Most live-service games rotate seasons quarterly through a year and we are only halfway through season 2 since Infinite’s release in November. To you, is that fast? Are we as fans and consumers not allowed to have higher expectations from a consoles flagship franchise?
I often see comments similar to yours where players say “well if you don’t like it then leave” and trust me that wont age well as it will only lead to the games demise if every unsatisfied player left for good, look at the player numbers. Long time fans of any company or franchise don’t just bail when they notice a bad phase. There’s a lot of good times and memories made over the years (kudos from bungie) that have created a fan base loyal enough to continue to be hopeful that 343 can get it right.
I don’t agree with some fans choice of words as it doesn’t lead to constructive criticism and doesn’t put 343 in the direction of making a more polished, player satisfied game. People really have to take time with learning how to speak with one another. The game plays very well, definitely can be 343’s best game overall. but the notable problems wont keep many long term Halo fans, and new players to the franchise will quickly lose interest and return to other shooters such as fortnite and COD.
As I mentioned before, if you bought something from your local store, or even went to a restaurant for food as examples and the product or service wasn’t provided to your expectations, you would demand a refund or better service for your money. Halo is a video game but it is still a product, why can’t we as fans and consumers demand better?
I mean in terms of gameplay. Halo 4 & 5 were ok games in my opinion but I was never taken with their gameplay the way I have been with Infinite. You are correct that Halo 4 & 5 were more feature rich, although I do remember people very upset about missing game modes and features from 5.
Sad part is I also saw Halo 5 as rushed and incomplete at launch too and well Infinite is even more rushed and incomplete and ironically both MT stores seemed to be working fine at launch despite them being the most complained about.
I like you.
This is exactly how I feel about the community and it’s great to see there are some others still here cringing at the endless whining,
I especially hate the majority of the “significantly above average skill” population. Especially pro players. It’s always the same complaints. Over and over. Then the rest of the community latch on like hungry babies and suckle that sweet sweet negativity.
The game isn’t perfect. There is a lack of content and a lot of poor choices IMO. That said l, for a game with a dying population, the community as a whole are doing a great job keeping it that way.
This is the #1 problem with 343 and why infinite is in the worst state any Halo has ever been in in terms of it’s structure. The messed up thing is knowing they really don’t want to improve it.
It’s the dumbest thing any business can do for their business.
343 is hell bent on working around the problems they cased to keep the problems they cased and it’s a huge reason the player base is dropping off. So has the communication with 343, not that it was really ever their but they have gone silent.
Why should I be thankful for a half -Yoink!- release and a blatant cash grab. This game needed another 6 to 8 months to ship as a complete product
Gotta love posts like these.
“I’m sick of Halo fans and their standards, I’ll swallow any garbarge and slow updates after 343 was so rushed with a… six year development time…”
