You should take your own advise, you seem to really be fond of 343’s accomplishments. I heard they are hiring ![]()
So then you should probably wait until they can push out the content.
You don’t even work at 343 so I can’t really see how you’re so sure changing devs is what the franchise truly needs.
You’re just guessing at this point.
That’s why a decent bit of people left infinite, they’ve been forced to wait for features that are a staple at launch, not what feels like a beta with a shop and more bugs and problems than content, and I know you don’t work at 343 either, but changing higher up the chain would be more reasonable since they clearly don’t know how to release a complete, fun, and enjoyable game at launch.
No kidding. That’s why I left. It’s pretty clear things aren’t going to get done in a timely manner. Hell, there’s delays for popular games left and right.
Are we just going to pretend 2020 didn’t happen? I know forge should’ve been here at launch but it’s a big mode.
I’m starting to see patterns here. The bigger games get, the longer they’ll take to push out the door. IDK at this point.
All I’m saying is you’re wasting your time trying to find new devs to take 343’s place.
Agreed with things looking like they’re not going to get done and with the 2020 statement that was 2 years ago, and I remember when they were bringing in contractors like a revolving door and constantly replacing them leading to a decent bit of the mess we have now if I’m not mistaken
And forge is looking pretty big, and I can’t wait to see what people make and at this point with devs you’re right with how messy things are with H:I’s development so far
Yep. If I recall, shouldn’t you be hiring more permanent employees so you don’t have to end up training the new ones over and over?
Seems kinda risky ![]()
You definitely should, not only does it lead to contractors doing it for the money and not the passion for the game but leads to unfinished code that gets picked up and sort of ductaped together by a new contractor, 343 seems to have tried to have developed H:I cheaply and therefore a decent bit of infinite feels cheap and without passion
Yeah, it looks like all the changes aren’t really visible to anyone other than software engineers. I can guarantee you they rushed those. Like 60% sure.
The only real difference you can see in regards to improvements is with forge. The stuff they’re pulling off is just nuts.
All the other stuff seems relatively unfinished and rushed.
Agreed, and if software is messed then it messes the game up, like desync, the game trying to download a PNG 2,000 times per game, the menus being the worst I’ve seen and interacted with in awhile, ect. and forge is looking pretty smooth from what I’ve seen and it’s no telling what players with passion will make with it.
But yeah, everything else feels rushed, lack of modes at launch, challenges that are challenging because they’re poorly made and rely on RNGesus to bless you with how bad desync and a few other problems are especially with no match composer, and much, much more
You do if you want to make decisions up there and last time I checked, you don’t so enough about that.
first of all:
if you like the game, good for you, don’t let anyone take that away from you.
but:
even if it is correct, that every new installment created a split in the community (yes even h2 and 3), the thing back in the day is: the games were good enough to build and hold a large community of players.
it was beginning with h4, that the player numbers were starting to break down very rapidly (maybe even already at reach, i would have to look it up again).
i think a big reason for that is, that the newer installments weren’t even close to being on par with the previouse ones in terms of content and functionality. additionaly they strayed away very far from the original formular. that doesn’t mean the same game, bc h1-3 were all diferent games with the same basis.
and on top of that the recent halo games focused to the most part on monetization instead of being good, functional, content complete (same amount of content like previouse installments) games.
and people are calling this out. yes, this can be tiresome and it is part of the AAA industries strategie to wear people complaining out and silently turn this sorry state of games into the norm. and why wouldn’t they, bc it worked already with MTs.
again: if you like the game, good for you.
but in my opinion we should never turn quiet when the publisher is lowering standards while raising prices on top of paywalling of content, which was standard in previous installments.
Oh can it. The only reason you’re calling me a shill is for having a different opinion than you.
If you can’t handle that, why are you in the forums? This is a discussion after all.
So that’s the reason you’re engaging me? Over a thread that got rightfully closed down for breaking the rules on this site? That was in January, dude. Get over it.
I’m not going to agree to something I believe will damage the franchise even more than it already has been.
Yes, there’s an OBVIOUS problem with the game that I can see with my own two eyes. I’m not blind.
What I don’t know is what is happening over at 343. I need to actually see what’s happening over there to make that assertion. Full context remember? That way I’m not stupidly asking for someone ‘innocent’ to be fired.
As a long time Halo fan, I am very disappointed in the decisions and the path 343 has taken, but I can get over it, life for me doesn’t start or end with a game or movie, it’s of no consequence to me. What I take issue with is the constant lying to keep me invested in the game (Product).
343 knew well before launch that the game had serious technical problems, and they knew the game would launch with stripped down content, contradicting their marketing campaign, and all the same problems that would take at least one or maybe several years to rectify.
What I did expect from a company like Microsoft/343 was to inform me of the problems and that the game will release very unfinished, that way I can make an informed decision whether to pay money for a product or wait until it’s working, but that’s not what they did, 343 did and is still lying about their product, I have said this before, I did not expect this from Microsoft.
Spamming it is but requesting for a new developer is actually reasonable knowing 343 isn’t even really a developer that has a full time employees. They can’t even create a half a game and they are struggling a year later just to add the basics of what a Halo game is. The messed up thing about it is knowing they have had literally 7 years to do it, that’s ridiculous, period.
Can’t tell if you’re trolling at this point or you genuinely can’t read. I’m “engaging” you because you’re crying about people criticizing upper management at 343. When did I say old posts were why I was engaging you? I said because of my prior interactions with you I’m not surprised at your take on this thread.
You keep telling people that you just have a different opinion than them, but yet when someone has a different opinion that you - like not being fond of upper management’s decisions - you tell them their opinions are invalid because they don’t work for 343 or that they are harassing them. Wth? ![]()
It’s not rocket science buddy, that’s how businesses in real life operate. Employees receive instruction and direction from management, who is overseen by upper-management. You don’t need to be employed by 343 to observe that their management has made several clear missteps in the directions of their games. Are you really that naive?
Shadow, I get it. I had to wait 7 years, too. And you’re right, I shouldn’t have to wait. It should’ve been there at launch.
I just want 343 to finish their work. That’s all. If we swap devs now, I’m not going to get the chance to see their finished product.
I simply want to see the finish product. If MCC was anything to go on, I really want to see Infinite finished.
New Visor cross-customization is great! I’m really liking getting to use the black Eaglestrike visor with my Mark VII.
For me it’s not about being right or wrong, it’s knowing more developers are following the new Bungie’s path, and it’s a path of destruction.
This pay now “and we will fix it later” is the new model for gaming. The problem with that is, knowing no one knows if and when things will take place and going off or word of mouth isn’t cutting it anymore.
Personally, I’m fed up with the talking, stop talking and show some real action. That’s where I’m at.
Completely fair and understandable. As much patience I have with 343, it will not last forever. I’ll eventually go play something else.
