It occurred to me that the Halo franchise is in a really amazing place currently for casual players like myself. With MCC being added to PC, and Reach finally joining the fray, I have all the games to my disposal on modern systems.
This means I can afford to play an entire Halo session in every game, 1 round each if I so choose. This is the way I enjoy playing Halo now. I generally play Swat, so what I like to do is boot up MCC, select all games with Swat (Halo 2, H2A, H3, Reach, H4), and allow the playlist to shuffle itself as time goes on.
After each round I play, I delete a game from the playlist and continue until I’ve played 1 round in all games. I then hop into Halo 5, and play until I’m satisfied. On days I’d like to play H1, I generally just throw in regular Slayer or do a BTB session.
As a fan of all the games, getting to play every title like this is really fun, as I get to experience classic and modern Halo any way I’d like, and because it’s random, I never know what I’ll get to play next. I’m able to balance my performance across the board, and experience the golden days of Halo, a time period I didn’t get to experience before, in 2020.
