I freaking love Powerhouse.
It’s so awesome.
No grenade spam.
No sword.
No sniper.
Not campy.
Good spawns.
Fun powerweapons like: grenade launcher, focus rifle and gravity hammer.
Outdoors.
Awesome design and colours (very Halo like).
I don’t think i’ve ever had a bad match on Powerhouse.
The question is: Why do people rarely vote for it?
Why do people vote for horrible maps like Countdown instead?
Am i the only one who LOVES this map?
I NEED ANSWERS!
Love this map, wish it came up more often, instead of swordbase.

I don’t like Swordbase, but i HATE countdown! >:(
Because like every asymetrical map in Reach, it’s unbalanced as hell. It’s only suited for one sided objective games. Not slayer or anything else.

I think it’s balanced.
If i’m on blue team, i can win.
If i’m on red team, i can win.
AWESOME MAP!11!!!111!

lol.
I can win on both sides, however red team still start with an advantage.
The reason I like Powerhouse is that the WHOLE map is used. I can’t stand maps where 95% of the battles happen in the exact same place over and over again. (Reflection/Sword Base I’m looking at you)…I hope going forward they make maps that encourage use of the entire map.

Map flow is a very hard thing to pull off. I speak as a forger D:

I made a map once…
It was the most horrible thing i have ever witnessed.

I am sure that’s true. I just hope that going forward whomever is making maps takes it into account. It makes or breaks a map.
I wish there was more variety in what maps came up in playlists. Almost EVERY game of slayer is going to either happen on sword base, countdown, or asylum. I remember when Reach came out and there was at least a little variety in what came up; then Bungie just took a lot of maps out of the playlist because “people tend to want these maps over these ones”.

Equipment helped with map flow. People will only go somewhere if there is a reward in it for them, be it a weapon, a vantage point, a powerup or a stealth approach to an important location. Equipment basically bribed players to go to places you would have otherwise ignored as did weapons. Take the pit on Halo 3, if you deleted one of the camo, overshield, rocket or sword. You would notice that the area that powerup was in would probably become largely unused (except maybe camo hall as it’s very noticable).
My point is that equipment helped a great deal with map flow, and if 343 bring back this or something similar, the map flow would likely be much improved as a result.
Power house is probably my fave map in reach for 1 flag but I think that for slayer it’s very unbalanced seeing how using evade or sprint the top team can reach grav hammer, rockets or grenade launcher before the bottom team.

Thanks for the tip! XD

I agree wholeheartedly. It is my hope that maybe 343 will give each and every map currently in rotation a good once over. I hope they see the data and try and adjust weapon locations and spawning points accordingly. Maps like Boardwalk and Highlands will benefit a lot from this. I am not saying you can make all the maps stellar by doing this but I firmly believe they can definitely make some of them better than they currently are.
