Please do not say git gud scrub because I have tried everything to fix what I think is jumpy aiming. The issue developed just recently but is causing me issues with playing. I have adjusted deadzones but have been unable to fix the issue. I have kept sensitivity constant throughout the issue to be sure the problem isn’t on my end. I also use an elite controller so I doubt the controller is the issue (I have also plugged it in to reduce input delay). My TV also has very little delay so that’s probably not the answer either. The MCC plays just fine with the same controller settings so I’m going to blame Halo 5. Please note that this issue is more noticeable at lower sensitivities. I would really like to see this fixed so I can go back to enjoying halo 5.
I feel like the aiming is hard to control, like it bounces around too much and I’m always fighting the controls. If I turn the sensitivity down any further, it’ll be too slow to counter people who are behind me. I’ve never had this much trouble aiming in any past Halo game and I hope they fix it with Halo 6
See this is the second one of these! I actually posted about this back a few weeks ago
Got the same bull crap you got.
I also play on a low sensitivity and have an elite controller… hmmm
I honestly haven’t had much problem with this game but I’ve found that I have been very adaptable to different controls so I’m sure I probably just adjusted.
I bet you wouldn’t have a problem if you didn’t come to the forums and see others talking about it.
I adapted. It’s all in your head

It’s not. Because I played the game with no issues until recently. So unless I unadapted then I’m not the issue. It’s the game.

? There haven’t been any updates. Nothing has changed recently.
You got any clips?
since they added the extra options in, its been perfect for me. so i duno tweak ur settings more or try another controller maybe. but im prity sure the orginal issue the game had for aiming is fixable now if you take the time to fiddle with ur controller settings properly.
It boggles my mind that they changed aiming the way they did having an “aiming” and “turning” speed based on how far you move your stick. Analogue sticks simply are not that precise. Did they forget that one of the reasons Halo CE was so critically acclaimed was because of how well the game played using an objectively inferior control method(for shooters)?
It is a textbook case of trying to fix what wasn’t broken. Its like the aiming system was designed for a Wiimote.

If I had to point to a cause of the issue it would be diagonal movement. It seems as if going side to side is fine as well as up and down but any diagonal movement is off.

Bullet magnetism ftw curve those bullets past cover and get the kill, yaaaaaaaay… also noticed the aim is bs tries to lock on to a target but if there’s two or more that are nearby or pass by your target your aim(from my experience) just -Yoinks!- up and I’m just like f this, and when you actually shoot and aim accurately FIRST I end up dying first even though I correctly landed my shots first. Had it happen to me too many times before to care anymore but when someone else dares to say -Yoink- to me about it when it happens to them they can go -Yoink- themselves.

I have adjusted settings but to no avail. The consistency of the aiming is off. Some games it’s great others it sucks. Just look at my game history. Some games I dj great others I sucks. And I have yet to change my sensitivity so that can’t be it.

I’ve played the game. I know what’s going. It’s not in my head

IVE BEEN SAYING THIS SINCE D1, THIS SUMS UP MY H5 CAREER!!
Also to the ppl saying it’s in your head, I dear hope you are not targeting the mass of people who have complained about aiming (as far as the OP, I highly doubt that is the case regardless). The issue is very real.
So after playing with my settings I’ve settled I the following
3 sensitivity
2 aim acceleration
0% on both deadzones
it does t completely fix the issues but it’s as close to consistent as I can get
for me the problem with the aiming lies in the much lower aim assist (which by itself is good) but the massive bullet magnetism completely negates this as bullets will actually curve around cover to hit you (this may also be server related)
like someone one else has said this is a prefect example of 344i “fixing” what wasn’t broken, will completely ignoring legitimate issues with the game
I’ve had the same issue no matter how I adjust the settings. It is worse with the pistol, especially in swat but I have it with other weapons as well. Just try to live with it and get by, but some games it’s very frustrating. I was thinking of getting an elite controller but it sounds like that won’t help.
I get that if you are not having the issue this probably sounds made up, but it is not. It is a very real issue that 343i needs to solve. Afterall, aiming is probably one of the most important parts of a fps and it needs to be flawless for everybody.
