“It’s still Halo, but it has its own voice to it.” - Kiki
The new multiplayer features are simply amazing. Customizing loadouts will solve the BR vs DMR argument. It’s finally settled. Whoever prefers the BR can use it, while whoever prefers the DMR can also use it. The return of assassinations is something I am glad about. It brought new ways to kill your enemies, which I liked. The return of armor abilities was a bad thing in my opinion at first. But after noticing that original Halo gameplay is still there at the same time, I saw that it would balance things; a mixture that is what Reach should have had. Spartan Point progression is a good idea for ONE main reason. You level up based on your actions in the game, such as getting killing sprees, multikills, headshots, high number of kills, etc. It is based on how well you play in the game rather than how many times you win, such as in Halo 3.
Now for the Covenant. The Spec Ops Elite armor has been given that terror-striking aspect which makes the Spec Ops Elite much more appealing to fight. As for the Elite Minor, My only complaint is that I feel it looks too vulnerable. The removal of the vambraces was a bad idea in my opinion. I feel that it’s necessary to have them as part of the armor. The rest of the armor looks amazing, though. The Grunt… Its methane tank looks like a balloon. The helmet looks great but the methane tank’s shape is a little bothersome. Anyways, I’m glad Covenant are back, they were always fun to fight. Although I thought it hilarious in other Halo games, I hope grunts stop screaming out random stuff and run away in this game. Halo 4 is supposed to be a little more serious, so I feel like they shouldn’t add that. Overall, I think the Covenant will be very fun to fight this game.
As for Spartan Ops, I think it will be an amazing new feature. I am most certainly willing to know what happens with Infinity and the Spartan IV’s after reading Glasslands. This will be a mode I will return to many times.
Last but not least, campaign. Ah, campaign. The thing every Halo fan is looking forward to the most. I can’t wait to play it. The idea of fighting different enemy groups (The covenant, the new enemy, etc) is most exciting. It reminds me of the last mission in Halo CE, when you fought the Covenant, the Flood and the Sentinels at the same time. The description of the first level leaves me waiting impatiently for the brand new package which is the campaign.
I really love the idea of playing as both a Spartan II and a Spart IV. That way you have certain traits in the campaign that work best with it, and certain traits in multiplayer that work best with competitive play. I also love how they are adding in the community’s favorite weapons from all of the Halo games, such as the Battle Rifle, Carbine, Magnum, Plasma Pistol, Shotgun, Sniper, Rocket Launcher, Assault Rifle, DMR… It’s like they are trying to please everyone. Overall, this game will definitely be something truly amazing which we have never experienced before, yet still feel that it’s Halo. I simply cannot wait for this game.
