I love the fact that 343i has made all of there maps take place in the “Holodeck.” Instead of the maps being located in and ripped from campaign, we now have INFINITE possibilities on the environments and maps we can create. For instance if halo were to take place in a volcano the most of the maps would probably fit that theme in past games for the sake of canon. But NOW if halo 4 were to take place in a volcano (I know it doesn’t I don’t live under a molten rock) then thanks to the “HoloDeck” we could have maps in an artic tundra, or in outer space. I love how they added that because now they are not limited to what they can create.
The decision to have the intial maps from Halo: Reach to also be in campaign was to save disc space. (I believe)
And the maps were all made from the ground up for multi-player. Anyways, there still needs to be a cannonical reason for a map to exist. You can’t just fight in a volcano just because.
Here’s a reason, “Hey I doubt you ever will but just in case you ever have to fight inside a volcano I want you to be prepared, so I’m putting you in a simualted fight inside of a volcano.”
But they aren’t just simulated out of thin air, the places that are simulated are places that actually exist inside of the universe.
> You can’t just fight in a volcano just because.
Sure you can

Can i fight on a pony that goes trought the sun? I would like to do that ^-^
And a volcano exists absolutely in the unvierse…
Halo needs a volcano map, honestly it would be nice to get maps that used locals not
in prior games or even be unrealistic. I don’t know variety is always nice, I know its not the norm in FPS but it would nice if this could be like the variety in platformers. I mean its a training sim, I think map layout would be more and important and local should not matter where its located.
Exactly I mean we could have a beach map, a night time metropolis, a volcano, a frozen tundra. the environments are unlimited.
I agree, but you should know that Halo has not ripped multiplayer maps from it’s campaign.
Not halo 4 but past halos most definitely have.
> Not halo 4 but past halos most definitely have.
None that I can think of.
I know war games is a training sim but is it a simulation in a physical locale or is it some sort of virtual/augmented reality system aboard the infinity?
The map Citadel, the level Citadel… That took 10 seconds. The Pit was based in the first mission of the campaign. Construct was ripped from campaign. Sandtrap was ripped from campaign. Those are all off the top of my head.

Every single one of Halo Reach’s maps were straight from the campaign aside from the DLC and Forge World.
> Not halo 4 but past halos most definitely have.
No Halo games have ripped maps from campaign. That is an irrefutable fact.
> The map Citadel, the level Citadel… That took 10 seconds. The Pit was based in the first mission of the campaign. Construct was ripped from campaign. Sandtrap was ripped from campaign. Those are all off the top of my head.
Citadel I can kinda see, but its not exactly the same as what you’re thinking of. Sucky map though. The Pit wasn’t really based on the first mission which took place in the jungle if you recall. Construct again is somewhat like Citadel’s situation, but there isn’t an area in campaign that looks exactly like it. Sandtrap had no part of the campaign that looked like it.
None of these are direct rips from the campaign. They may have elements and resemble things from the campaign, but they weren’t lifted from the campaign.
And MTR the Titan, Bungie revealed that they made the multiplayer maps first them incorporated them into the campaign. Why…-Yoink- if I know.

Only to inform you
Halo CE: None of the maps were remotely similair to any campaign territory except for environment, and then we were even in environments in multiplayer that we weren’t in campaign.
Halo CE PC: Only map there to even closely resemble a campaign map would be Death Island. Then again I haven’t played Halo PC.
Halo 2: Again, no map were remotely similair to a campaign level, not any that I can think of, and it had quite a few maps, except again for environment.
Halo 2 PC: Haven’t played but the 2 (?) additional maps wasn’t from campaign.
Halo 3: Some maps resembled some campaign elements, but only some.
Halo 3 ODST: This is the first game to take areas from the Campaign to use in a game mode. I don’t know if the areas were designed first, or just taken from the campaign.
Halo Wars: No MP maps from campaign.
Halo: Reach: Maps were designed for Multiplayer first, then integrated into campaign. Probably true for Firefight maps as well.
> I agree, but you should know that Halo has not ripped multiplayer maps from it’s campaign.
How can you type a comment like this. A LOT from reach was taken directly out of the
campaign lol
Boardwalk was in the campaign
Countdown was taken from the campaign
Powerhouse
Boneyard
swordbase
spire
Those are just the ones in PvP
In firefight almost every mission was in the campaign lol
Beachhead
Corvette
Courtyard
Glacier
Holdout
Outpost
Overlook
Waterfront
Firefight is still considered multiplayer online.
I dont know what you meant by your comment but if you mean what im thinking then
you are wrong. If your talking about any halo in general then reach is a perfect example.

If you are going to call me wrong…you better have evidence. The multiplayer maps in Reach were put into the campaign.
