I Love the Trailer, Do You?

I am thrilled to see Chief’s armor look like the Halo Wars art style! He looks bulky and gives me vibes of Halo 2 and 3.
Also, that assault rifle looked like our MA37 from Reach, and if they draw more art and details from that game, I would be thrilled.
I was incredibly skeptical of the trailer when I first watched it, but once Chief appeared all my fears slipped away. And the music!!! Wow, I’m just so excited!

I know people have concerns and complaints about some of the things in the trailer, so feel free to make your case here.
Let’s talk about what we’re unhappy about and what was thrilling to see!

Well, it had it’s goods & the bads but overall im more interested in it than in anything Halo related after Halo Reach. HW2 was interesting too but not really that much into RTS games. Well, some are good but Halo RTS games are in childs shoes, so to speak, as in it’s not that developed and finely tuned as many other RTS series and it’s limited by its console nature.

Though enough siderailing, it looked intriguing but im just waiting to see a bit more to decide whether it could be something to grow the community again.

It was awesome. Chief looks beautiful again

The trailer was great. We know this pilot is apparently a new character (this was mentioned Monday at E3 by 343) and I’m curious what his role will be. Perhaps he’ll ferry us around the Halo like Foe Hammer (he is Echo 216 after all) … perhaps a new mechanic could be calling in his pelican for resupply or to travel to certain points on the ring (if this takes a more open, exploration-focused approach it could be like a fast travel system).

I am all about the new design. We saw it was a brand new suit (Gen III) and modified by Halsey, so its old Mark IV/VI appearance makes sense when you take into consideration her influence … “Jorge, what did you do to my armor?” She clearly isn’t a fan of the newer designs; partial to the ones she helped create.

The Ring’s control room looked perfect. Everything I’ve seen of this game so far looks great … now if we could only see the gameplay itself.

Trailer was good, but still not going to preorder after the burn of halo 5. Will want to see if it’s worth it or not still a lot of time till release, but do like how they are going back to the classic art style.

I understand that mentality. I just know myself, and know I’ll be buying the next Halo game no matter what.

It looks good and sounds better. My biggest issue is that I want more.

What do you mean by that? Not disagreeing, just curious as to what you’re looking for.

I have high hopes for it though, so far I see what I like and hope that it will be the halo game I have been waiting for.

The art design is an improvement over h5, the sound is distinctively halo, and I want to see more trailers, gameplay, beta info, anything that is more so I can continue the enjoyment.

That’s fair. I think lots of people are trying to avoid the hype-train

I actually want Halo Infinite to be completely finished with a copy of the game installed onto my Xbox hard drive right now this second

I didn’t, it start with a cliche’ red herring of a no-name who was there just to throw you off that this was the Halo Infinite Trailer. The big reveal which later came as no surprise after seeing some UNSC emblems 30 seconds in. All that and no gameplay just a little story element of we lost and that is it.
Other than the release date, this was no different than the teaser last year.

Looks great, can’t wait to see more.

I find the trailer to be pretty good. Chief’s armour is a little too bulky for me, and a tad bit too green, but that’s just nitpicking. I hope his armour change is better explained than the armour change in Halo 4 though…

Really disapointed me. Halo 5 already had me on the fence, but the trailer did nothing to relieve my concerns. A lot of time spent with a generic character and instead of giving me hope with something new, tried to goad me in with nastalgia.

Halo 1-3 were good because they were new and different each time. They captured the imagination. Even halo 4 and 5 intrigued me even if they ended up being flawed productions. They showed us earth being invaded, weird portals opening, shield worlds, weird bird robots, intrigue.

I know we haven’t seen much, but this is the first halo trailer that actually depressed me.

I think the point is that they have tried being extremely new, and this is taking it back to the roots. They unsuccessfuly tried freah and new, and they now realize there are some mainstay parts of halo theyve left out. I mean, its been since 2007 since we’ve been on a Halo ring!

Precisely this sentiment. From what we’ve seen and heard about the game, it looks good. We just haven’t seen enough to definitively say anything.

I completely understand that. I just feel like they’re leaning into it a bit too hard. Halo Wars 2 brought back some of the classic art style, but it also introduced a relatively new faction in the banished, which seems to have been accepted rather well.

I don’t really find the lack of being on a halo ring all that much of a deal breaker. How are shield worlds or the ark worse? Because they aren’t hoola hoops? Bungie seemed to quickly de-escalate the player presence on them, and the regions we saw were pretty much the same area in all three games just different styles and parts of the same areas. Its clear their original creators were out of ideas for them. Forerunner installations are key, but sticking it on the same one over and over again is boring to me.

Having another halo is like star wars having another death star. We’ve already blown up two of them, and I can go back and play 3 excelent games if I want to experience them, 2 of which even have HD remakes.

Those are some fair points! I like the hoolahoops line lol
