Firthly I want to clarify that part of this piece will be my opinion but I’ll try to keep the entire community’s opinions in mind. I love the new update. 343 are actually starting to listen to us and I’m glad that 343 are doing that. When they announced all of the new armours coming out next year I was beyond excited. However the update lacks a few things that I would have liked to have seen added that should be patched into the game with relative ease. This thread is aimed towards Quinn Del Hoyo and the MP team at 343 Industries.
Add BR’s into slayer. Okay this is a VERY minor request at best and I just want to play slayer with my precious Battle rifle. I want to clarify that I want the H2 BR not the H5 BR due to how smart link affects it and that the H2 BR is much superior to the Halo 5 battle rifle. - We still need a classic playlist. The anniversary throwback playlist was not a TRUE classic playlist. You should use the ‘Evolved’ settings while making this. I have remakes of Lockout, Ascension, Guardian, High ground and Last resort in my file share (Last resort is still being tweaked). This would also be a good opportunity to reintroduce classic gamemodes like Oddball (I have Classic Oddball and Classic Slayer gamemodes in my file share). Why we need a classic playlist is that Halo 5’s MP gameplay is very divisive. Some people like it and some people hate it (I think it’s okay but I hate ADS and Spartan charge and I have a dislike for sprint). If you make a classic playlist it could see a rise in popularity for Halo 5 by getting old fans to return. The H2 BR should be the loadout weapon and the assault rifle should be excluded from this as ADS drastically increase the AR’s range. - Remove Mongoose sumo, Tankworld and Mantis breakout from Action sack. Try improving Minotaurs by giving the survivors Spartan lasers but remove their shields to make things a bit more interesting (I said improve Minotaurs because I belive the mode has potential despite it being terrible at the moment). However some people like those gamemodes so they could possibly stay. - We need a veto system. Yes not the voting system but the map rotation is so poor we need it fixed and to implement a veto system of some kind. - BTB still needs A LOT of improvement. I couldn’t care for any of the maps save Viking, Altar and Dispelled while maps like Antifreeze, Entomed and Recurve are just awful but the rest aren’t much better either. Half the maps should be removed as there are too many maps (the same can be said for Grifball and Infection). Add in more remakes of classic BTB maps like Blood Gulch, Avalanche (which is also in my file share) and Zanzibar. The following things need to be added into BTB:
BTB Heavies - BTB Assault (aka Nuetral bomb) - BTB Team Crazy King (it’s now in Action sack so why not?) - BTB One flag and One bomb
I haven’t touched BTB for a good while now and until these changes are made I don’t think I’ll ever touch BTB ever again.
I would love for some of these changes to be made and keep doing the great work for future updates 343.

I’m also really impressed by what we have. I’m honestly just nitpicking but seriously we REALLY need the Veto system or 343 need to fix the map rotation system. The rest is just stuff I personally would feel would enhance halo 5.
Agree with a veto system but really could care less for anything else (although I wouldn’t mind them). However what do you mean with the br? Social slayer or ranked? And why the h2 version? The game already has enough magnetism to it and the h2 version just makes it worse. Not to mention the maps were built specifically with the magnum in mind.i just don’t like the idea as I slayer it out quite a bit and now that we have social slayer I can warm up before going straight into ranked, but why warmup if ranked will play differently than the social version?

If we got the veto system this would complete the game! I see what you mean though, all the things you mentioned would definitely be a nice addition to the game.
Halo 2 BR’s in Slayer? Well will have social slayer when the update gets released into the wild. It could fit there, but not in ranked.
The classic playlist could be interesting, and I think it would be a great experiment as a rotational playlist at first. My only worry is that gunplay won’t mesh well with old mobility, but since I haven’t played this in customs, I don’t know how different it would be. With the new custom games browser coming you should host this and see if you can’t get a community going.
This is all purely subjective since Action Sack isn’t meant to be conventional. Maybe get rid of Tankworld, but only because it is a little slowpaced (I enjoy it, but I know a lot of people don’t care for it). Of course all of those game types were popular custom gametypes, which is why they got added into Action Sack in the first place. And I don’t think you should mess with Minotaurs. The point is to run away from the Minotaur, not fight it.
Yes to the veto system! Better than the voting system and it should be used to give us a chance to get a better map (It always stinks when you’ve played the same map 3 times out of 4 of the last games)
There are some maps that aren’t that great in BTB but again, I think that is just off of personal preference (Personally I don’t care for Eagle’s Square). I do not think that there are too many maps. The more maps the better! Diversity in fps locale is a friend to longevity. However, I do like your suggestion to add some new game types in there.

I did, the only point I really called you out on was your thoughts on the BTB maps. The thing is you basically said to remove every map you don’t like instead of trying to find ways to improve them.

We are very close to having an ideal online environment for H5 now, I feel… a traditional playlist infrastructure with the new gameplay features built from the OG Halo formula.
Hoping the general perception going forward will be that this is a full-fledged Halo title for the current times… in terms of MP. Hopefully they will introduce competitive KOTH and Oddball gametypes in the near future.

Actually it isnt minor since starting with a BR has a drastic effect on the overall weapon balance in the match (it will be like halo 3 were no one picks up anything)

Agree that it needs improvement but map variety is important. Too many maps should never be an issue.
Im not much of a BTB person but i see no problem with any of those additions.
