I love the forum's font

Does anyone know if it’s a proprietary font created specifically to be Halo-themed, or if it’s obtainable for personal use?

The font reminds me from Battlefield font CMIIW.

I’m not sure, I don’t know much about Battlefield and don’t play it, but you could be right.

The font reminds me of what it’d look like if everything was typed up on a type writer. I love it!

Yeah, it’s great. I love how blocky it is. I wish I could download it and use it in Notepad and Visual Studio and stuff.

One of the fonts is called Industry - used for main headings - and is available through Adobe’s font library. The other, standard text font, looks like it requires a license

By main headings, what are you referring to? Because the font used for topic titles looks like the same font as in post text, just bigger. Unless I’m mistaken.

Edit: Thanks for the info. I checked out the Industry font and I like it a lot. Even if it isn’t the exact same font as the post font, it’s got a similar style.

They’re different - checked now that I jumped back to my laptop again
Topic titles, post titles and the title text that’s in the site header uses “Industry
Normal body text is using NormativePro

Cool. Sadly, font licensing is expensive and confusing, so I probably won’t be able to use the fonts personally. At least I can enjoy the font here!

Me too. One thing though that I’m trying to figure out is why can I only sometimes see when someone has quoted another user and the actual quote appears in their reply, and sometimes it doesn’t. It’s obviously a lot easier to see the quoted reply in front of you as a part of the whole thing rather than clicking on the little picture to get the quote to appear, but at the same time it’s nothing huge. I’m sure I’ll figure it out eventually as I keep hanging around here.

Jeez, when you see the ‘Normative Pro’ font on that website it just looks kind of generic, slightly more square version of Arial.

But in the context of the forums it looks very sci-fi. Whoever picked out that font has a good eye, if I were picking out font for this site it’d either be lacklustre or atrociously hard to read.

If I’m understanding you right, you’re referring to the difference between a user highlighting and quoting another user and a user merely replying to another. When you click “Reply” on a user’s post, it won’t automatically include a quote of the user’s post. To do that, you have to highlight the text in the user’s post and then click the “Quote” tooltip that pops up.

Yes that’s basically what I meant. Sorry if it sounded a little confusing. Thank you so much for clarifying that for me.

A little hard for me to move back and forth between Waypoint to the forums itself but besides that definitely a fan. Reminds me of when Bungie changed up their website. Very modern and easy to use once I can get here haha.

Discourse, the forum technology they’re using, is pretty great. I’ve participated on other websites that have used it to power their forums, and I like it. But yes, the downside is that the forums are now a little less integrated with the main website.

I love the font too!
