Im a casual gamer i tend to fire up my 360 at night have a few games, chill out. I love playing halo always have over other shooters such as cod. BUT i feel halo 4 is a mess when it was first reliased it was actully pritty fun, sure the wepons may have been overpowerd ect,but the core game was fun much like a halo game should be.
It has slowly gone down hill this happend to reach and it was when the add the forge maps, im not saying these are bad i just think they are tacky and look cheap nothing about them makes me want to play them and often i just quit out because of the dull looking gray desighn.
It was fine at first but now they are everywere i went onto big team setteler the other day and yes that was the level i got 5 times in a row no joke 5 times.

I feel halo is not halo anymore i think they have attemted to rivel games such as cod and taken ideas from them BUT ITS NOT HALO why do you think halo 3 was so good. it was simple it no sprint abbilitys or too many power wepons and no forge well a little towards the end.
The tipping point for me the other day was when i played a new game type called mini slayer i actully felt 343 were just taking the piss, dont add stupid funny game types if your game is already a joke. This promted me to buy black ops 2 and i have to say it is far far better then halo. they have it on lock down everything works and most of all it is enjoyable.
I am wrting this mostly because i love halo and really really want to see halo 5 destroy the compatition. BUT i feel in 343,s hands it has no chance even after watching the trailer there was people saying how bad it was. I think 343 really need to think about the core gameplay of halo go back to halo 3 and even 2 and look at what made it diffrent what was the hart and soul of the game, i strongly feel it was because it did not take itself too seriously much like cod and battlefield, this is why i think hslo 4 has fell into the depths of computer game hell as it is no longer fun PLEASE 343 DON’T RUIN HALO FOREVER GET YOUR HEAD OUT YOUR -Yoink- AND SORT IT OUT your not the big gaming power you were telling us all aout that bungie left in charge of there game.

Jesus christ I wish everyone would just give 343 a chance.

They’ve started a new trilogy of Halo and everyone just complains about it. Just wait until 5 and if its the same then complain.

I also find Halo to be Halo some people just have different views. Sure the loadouts etc. Make it feel a lot like CoD but I like it as it gives me my own weapon of choice and I don’t have to fight with a weapon I don’t like and when it came to reach loads of people just ended up using the shotgun/grenade launcher/concussion/needler when they had the chance to.

Now that was overpowered because I could use the Grenade launcher really well so once it came to the time being able to use it vehicles and players got destroyed in seconds… by a loadout weapon…

Well I would, but given your recent contributions to this forum hopefully you’ll keep to your word and ‘export’ to COD asap.

& as if you’re saying that the halo 5 trailer made the game look bad. Its a teaser, it literally showed us nothing of what the game will be like.

Wow! Already saying Halo 5 will be bad? Really? 343 is a good company, I don’t know why everybody gives them such a hard time. I mean yeah, they may not be as good as Bungie, but they are getting there.

I’m just going to say two things.

First of all, I’m not happy that they made a whole new suit for the Chief. They COULD have had the Librarian give it to him, or he could have got it at the start of Halo 5, but it makes no sense that he has a whole new suit after being in a cryo-tube for four years. They should have just let him keep his old suit until he could get a new one. Still, it does look good on the Chief, but, even though I haven’t unlocked it yet, I have seen the multiplayer Mark VI, and it looks more like the Chief’s real suit than the one he wears in the Campaign of Halo 4.

Secondly, I have a problem with the custom loadouts. I can see that 343’s heart was in the right place, but I just don’t see it being fair to the newer players. It gives the higher ranked players better weapons, grenades, AAs, and the like. The only medium-ranged weapon a new player can easily get his hands on is a Magnum, while other players could have BRs, DMRs, Carbines, or Lightrifles.

That doesn’t make sense. A new player can still have a BR or DMR off the bat, not to mention the AR and Magnum both got a buff, so it’s balanced and fair, even for a new player.

The only complaint I have left remaining for 343i is the in-game ranking system, it should be just like Halo 3, IMO.

Love the game though, play it daily.

Forge maps are awesome and balanced unlike maps such as complex and abandon.

I have to agree. They obviously listen to us. There have been tons of updates, most of which were beneficial to the game. At least they’re trying. It’s rare for a large company to devote so much time in fixing their game–especially a game as popular as Halo. If it was DICE or Infinity Ward, Halo 4 would’ve only had one update that broke it even further…

Your confusing “External Tuning” with “Title Update” (TU). They are not the same at all.

Bugs in the game play are not fixed by External Tuning, which just tweak parameters for maps (i.e. weapons,spawn points, player size etc. etc.) on the server side . A TU changes code in the game, which would be needed to add things like Visible CR ratings in the Lobby (instead of needing to go to WayPoint for this), fix the host selection method bugs, fix the lack of user selectable filters to reduce Lag (as in Reach ), fix the horrible frame rate Lag with some Maps when played in split screen mode etc.

I believe there have only been 2 Title Updates that fixed bugs in 8 months - which is really low compared to other Games - like GTA IV, COD II, Sonic etc.

And until 343 fixes the Host Lag issues (~ 70 % of my 1400 H4 War Games are lagged by 0.5 to 5 seconds), I’m done with H4. For my Halo game play, I went back to Halo Reach and have NONE of the erratic crippling lag issues I have had with H4, as described here:

And it isn’t me or my connection (read the links for details) - none of my other multiplayer Games (COD II, Reach, Halo 3, Sonic, GTA IV etc.) have the crippling lag issues that H4 does. Unless it gets fixed in a TU I won’t be buying H5 as it shows 343 simply doesn’t care about multiplayers and fixing broken net code.

To me it seems like whenever they try to fix something, they break another thing or don’t do it well/only half way. Then they try to fix it again and there is a chance for it to have the same effect and it takes quite a while for stuff to happen sometimes.

Issues I still have with the game and ancillary: Join in progress, map rotations, bugs in dominion, net code not the best, join in progress with CSR, halo 4 stats app is slow and fails to connect many times, it doesn’t display the best things, balance issues with weapons and loadouts still yet to be fixed, unbalanced maps (exile dominion), custom games are lacking game types and options, forge has precision tuning removed and forge pieces, no theater for spartan ops and campaign, and so much more. There is still a lot of work needed to fix the game. They’ve done some balancing, added red X, it was white and lasted barely any time before, and several other things… Some stuff is more playable and better than it was at launch. Some other stuff went down.
