I love the new smart scope in halo 5. I love the old halos and the nostalgia the old games bring me, but the old classic scope was lame. It was a crosshair in the middle of your screen with some zoom, and it looked like lazy game design. Yes, I know the game explained this saying that your HUD was linked to your weapon, but it didn’t look good.
The new smart scope looks great because it looks like something that would be in the halo universe, and it looks badass! People complain that the gun now blocks your view and that it takes longer to aim in and out, but those things can be tweaked easily. A reticle hologram floating over your gun is a great and unique idea and it easily blends in with halo 5’s gameplay.
Call me what you want, but I’m ok with smart scope slightly improving accuracy too. As long as it doesn’t improve accuracy significantly, and just slightly, it should work just fine! Good job, 343!
