You complain about every little detail. Can nothing please you people? If it’s not one thing, its the other. 343 isnt out to make a bad game, they are out there to entertain you! I enjoy halo 4 very much. Thank you 343
i feel so ashamed that our community is having this much bad feelings towards GOOD change. I dont want a stale game coming out every couple years. I like and appreciate new content. I wish alot of these people would chill the hell out and enjoy
Constructive criticism is not complaining. I like Halo 4, but I want it to meet its full potential.

Exactly this. However, not all posts here are very constructive, I must say
It goes way beyond constructive criticism. Its downright insulting. I feel bad for 343

Oh, definitely. Most of the people on these forums who “hate” Halo 4 don’t even understand the factual reasoning behind the aspects of the game they supposedly hate.
Yeah im glad atleast some people have some sense to not hate on every little thing.
Halo is insanely popular, thus the insane are attracted to it…V_V
Haha that makes sense lol.
Exactly!!! Even after reading up on almost every post in these forums and then seeing a lot of the stuff people have suggested being implemented in the coming weeks and still to see them rage over it there acting like spoiled brats.
Totally agreed. People stink.
Lol some anyways…I’m happy with the improvements they’re making.
People complain about a lot of the things like 343 promised such things to them…
Agreed. These are halo fans set to do their best and sometimes it takes time to make things happen.
I’m just going to be positive I guess.

What fans? Lolololololololololololol
I believe that the reason why people react in such a manner is because they care about Halo quite deeply. With this being said, I’m afraid that I am one of those that cannot help but criticize 343 for their decisions. I enjoy Halo 4, but it could be so much better, and in light of recent announcements, it does not seem as though they are listening to the community as they should be.
The multiplayer is flawed. We payed full price for a beta… literally… they even made a playlist for us to test the forge maps before putting them on rotation.
When you release a beta and charge full price for it, you are definitely getting a lot of hate. Same thing happened with War Z.

These are my feelings exactly, for both 4 and Reach.
imo, both were fairly great games that had some drawbacks that prevented them from being exemplary online experiences. On their own, they were fun, but there are some drawbacks that some of the more diehard fans have pointed out.
Sure, some of them do so… quite more caustically than others, but some mean it as a labor of love. When we point out how instant respawning and DMRs are breaking to the game, we do have legitimate reasons for doing so. When we point out how AAs seem rather superfluous in the grand scheme of things, we have a good reason for doing so.
And when this video gets popular, you know the community’s trying to tell you something.
We love Halo. That’s why we nitpick. Sometimes the best way to love something is to tear it apart completely.
(Sidenote: This does not apply to actual, physical relationships. If you try to tear down your relationship with your significant other, that’s not called love; that’s called domestic assault. Turn yourself in, you sick -Yoink-.)
Look at it from my point of view:
The game has gone from Halo CE - the ultimate competitive shooter (in my eyes) - to Halo 4 - random on random on random
Halo CE was almost 100% predictable from the weapon spawns, to the pistol, to the spawn system. That is what made me fall in love with it. You could never die from something you couldn’t control. The better player ALWAYS won. Got rocketed? Your fault for not getting to the rocket spawn since they drop in the same location every 2 minutes no matter what. Getting spawn raped? Your fault for not forcing a random spawn. Got out Pistol’d? Your fault because the pistol has the least amount of spread out of any Halo utility weapon.
Now look at Halo 4: Weapons spawn infrequently on random timers at random locations. This makes map movement pointless, and makes power weapon control solely focused on Personal Ordnance Drops, which are also RANDOM. FFS I’ve been in a game that was 55-55 and lost because they got a sniper in their ordnance in the last minutes while I got a concussion rifle. You can instantly respawn in Halo 4, making spawn control near impossible in gametypes where this is implemented. It also nullifies the punishment of death. In FFA, it is better to die than to stay alive if you are no shields because it is an instant shield recharge. You also have no way of knowing if a player is better equipped for a certain scenario because of loadouts. Does he have a boltshot? a plasma pistol? a suppressor? The hell if I know.
You would be upset too if you enjoyed the near complete lack of randomness in Halo CE and 343 dropped Halo 4 on you.
A lot of people do give constructive criticism and they have the right to. The game is not perfect and it’s up to the community to tell 343i what they want. As for the small amount of people who actually post insults or flame the forums. Just ignore them. If you do that their threads will disappear quicker.
I wholeheartedly agree. I am ashamed at the people settling for much much less.
It’s just kids who rage about not getting what they want. I want it the CSR in game, but I find no reason to totally trash 343. It is their first chance. Halo 2 was nuts whenever it first came out the in game ranking system was crazy hard to level up. I plan on tweeting Franklin about the in game CSR a lot. Because it is a Halo 2 and 3 tradition if they are serious about the competitive community they need to have it.
I’m not surprised 343i/MS have moved to attract a new audience for the next decade. Besides aging gamers and getting that 10 year in flux of new Halo fans I can see merit in going with -Yoink!- as well as making the game friendly to newer or less classic hardcore players.
There is work to be done even in that vision though e.g. Wii or Mario Party instructions on how to play game types etc.
The community has a long way to go as well e.g. new players appreciating competitiveness and classic hardcore realising the whole game doesn’t have to be drill practice with your regular team.
There are playlists for a reason and I think over the next 12 months 343i will hit the mark far more than they did at launch.
Of course this is all with respect to multiplayer where in terms of campaign I believe they hit the ball out of the park and SPOPS is heading in a more positive direction and moving from liking it to loving it. As for custom games I don’t understand the removal of staple features for customisation for that community.
Perhaps the vision to streamline so much in the matchmaking hoppers has been taken too far and alienated sub communities?
