I liked halo 5, the weapons, armor, characters, gameplay and more

I hope they bring back some of the armor from halo 5 in armor cores, like Vale’s. That would be cool.

If you were in battle in real life and you were trying to hardest to the the best Sprint you could to get to point A to point B, would you be able to shoot? Or would all your focus and energy go into the Sprint? Do you think you can pull off your best Sprint while also shooting a gun? No right? Same concept applies in the video game. That’s why all sprints like this work the same in every shooter because therotically if you try to run the fastest you could it wouldn’t be while shooting. It would be while are arms are swinging. Having your gun up would hinder this. So if you want to make an argument about it not being in the lore well that’s false because there have been times where we ran with his weapon and didn’t shoot.

On top of all the the abilites allowed you to to shoot whenever you wanted. It didn’t matter if you were in the animation if you can get out of it the very next second you plan to shoot. That’s why the slide jump was so useful because your hand animation came up faster than just sliding. And that’s just one move.

Chief went thru normal training without tech on him so he had to have trained with a fire arm the proper way. Your saying he can stay in hip fire the whole time. I get that. I’m saying. If your going to make a pistol. Give it ads because it just makes sense visually. OTHER than that. You know the scope you get with the silenced pistol? The tac mag? That’s the scope I want on the pistol. I just don’t want that in-between scope that the sidekick currently has. It doesn’t feel right

Actually it is part of the overlay. When you zoom and and look at the floor and move it around you see those blue lines move with your hud. It’s not attached to the gun. Your hud is projecting it. Raising the gun to eyesight and those blue lines being apart of the overlay and not the gun are two different things

Also I’m talking about the books. Espst the early ones. They have him use the thrusters to fight and the thrusters we’re on chiefs back just like Halo 5. So yes. That is lore accurate

If I were in a battle in real life, I would focus on shooting the enemy dead in order to save my life rather than running around the battlefield like a headless chicken.
Which is completely beside the point that we are actually playing genetically manipulated and cybernetically modified super-soldiers in hydraulics-enhanced mech-suits with built-in supercomputers which can actually let them shoot while sprinting.

Yes, I actually can, if the gun is sufficiently light compared to my body weigth and arm strength.
Case in point, shooting while sprinting with a plastic gun in lasertag is ridiculously easy.
Given the fact that a Mjolnir armor weighs 1000 pounds while an assault rifle weighs 10 pounds, it’s obvious that it will not interfere in the slightest with their movement.

That is objectively false, as there are plenty of shooters that have omnidirectional sprint and even let you fire your gun while doing so. I’ve only just recently (re)played Doom 3, which does just that.

The point is that Spartans can shoot while sprinting and H5G doesn’t let you. That’s why the game contradicts lore.

I’ve already said, it’s completely irrelevant which abilities were able to cancel sprint or how long it took for them to do so. This has nothing to do with the point at hand.

I can also fight with a stick of wood if I have to. Doesn’t mean I would when I have superior technology at my disposal.

No, it doesn’t. Aiming down sights is a laughably outdated “technology” by the time the Halo games take place. It would be like Chief taking out a sextant to determine his position.

I’m not talking about the blue lines. Smart-link already had a projected crosshair on the HUD in all of the prior games. I’m talking about the huge weapon outline that blocks your field of view for no reason.

So there is one lore-consistent item in a game full of contradictions. Bravo. That still doesn’t change that H5G is by far the least lore-accurate game of the franchise.

I’m not talking about focusing on shooting I’m talking about a moment where you have a chance to run and you do your best Sprint you could.

The heavier the gun the slower you are sprinting your not carrying a huge gun in one hand and doing your best Sprint.

Both above statements don’t matter tho because you say these are Spartans that past the ability to do that and your right. To that I say Halo 5 was the best version of Sprint. I think Sprint doesn’t belong in halo period actually. I do defend it in halo 5 because it was tied to the ablities. It gave Sprint a role. A purpose. Not it doesn’t have that anymore in halo infnite and the Sprint problem is even worse now.

When you zoom in on the Halo 5 Magnum. You know that reticle that’s there? It’s blue. It’s right above the sights. Yeah that. That’s your hud displaying that. If your hud wasn’t displaying that then all you would see is the gun. You wouldn’t see that blue reticle on the screen. I know this because I’ve been thru plenty of glitches where the overlay goes away and I just see the gun. Even with some weapon glitches you can make this same thing happen. Every reticle you see in the game is all apart of your hud.

You say it’s the only thing but yet you don’t realize that the spartan charge is just the thruster pack but doing a shoulder bash. The stabilize is also the same system of thrusters and the ground pound was also the same thrusters. They were all apart of the same system and you can tell by the jets coming out of the spartan. All of these moves were possible in the books because that’s how the thruster worked in the books. It was multiple directional AND Cheif was able to control them at will. So yes. He was able to spartan charge. Ground pound AND stabilize as well as thrust around.

Halo 5 was the most lore accurate.

That’s a loaded question. As I said, when being shot at, I would always try and shoot the other guy dead. That does more for your survival than running around like a headless chicken would.

Yes, and the reason while current day soldiers cannot shoot while sprinting is because their weapons weigh so much compared to what their upper muscular system is designed for.
Luckily we aren’t playing a current day soldier in Halo.

Glad that you finally admit that.

This wasn’t about sprint as a mechanic, it was about sprint being lore-accurate, which it isn’t and never will be unless we are able to shoot while sprinting.

Well, no shot, Sherlock.
That still wasn’t what we were talking about.
Smart-link in all the other Halo games already had that.
The difference was that Smart-link projects those reticules onto the video feed of a camera that is mounted onto your gun, meaning the gun itself tells you where it’s going to fire, whereas H5G forces you to manually aim your weapon in order to get that same display.
This is a laughable step backwards in technology and completely contradictory to the Halo universe. Case in point, Smart-Scope (aka ADS) is never actually mentioned anywhere in the entire Halo lore besides H5G; including (but not limited to) games, books, comics and movies.

So it’s still just one piece of equipment among dozens of other contradictions.
A piece of equipment, btw, which already existed in Halo 4. A game which still has less contradictions than H5G (although still more than any classic Halo game before it).

It was absolutely not.
H5G was the least lore-accurate game of the franchise, including even those weird top-down shooters, and I have already proved that several times.

whiles i don’t like h5 as much as infinite… i wont deny that h5 is fun, and from playing infinite… it makes me REALLY want the game ported over to pc, even as its own thing, i would play the piss outa it. love the fiesta of h5

That’s thing about Halo 5. I actually had FUN. I don’t have fun in ifinite. I wish I could but I can’t. It’s not as exciting.

Na bro. I always knew that sprinting while not shooting wasnt about the lore.

My point was that the abilites went around that issue and that Halo 5 did the Sprint the best justice it could have. And actually it’s more balanced in halo 5 because when you get shot ur sheilds don’t recharge. In infinite you get tot run away with no penalty.

But again. Neither here nor there because I would rather classic Halo over infnite and Halo 5 over infinite. Just literally anything else but what infinite is.

Wether it’s part of the lore or not I’m will to die on a hill for the Halo 5 Magnum. To me it’s the best feeling gun out of ALL shooters and it is so because of it’s ads and it’s pace of shots.

Yeah. Halo 4 had them.
You call in “just a piece of equipment”. Like bro. It was mentioned all the time in the books. Not just once or twice. The thrusters we’re part of everything he did. So the thruster system is a part of the lore. A huge part and it should be apart of gameplay but if I can’t get that then at least classic because the middle man gameplay is horrible

So you knew, but you just chose to disregard that fact when you claimed that H5G was the “most lore-accurate game” or something.
Double standard at its best.

No, your point was that H5G was allegedly the “most lore-accurate game” or something.
Which it wasn’t.
Balancing (or the lack thereof as in H5G’s case) has nothing to do with this. You could balance non-canon mechanics just like you could canon ones.

Has nothing to do with lore.

Still has nothing to do with lore.

Yes, the thruster system is similar to lore but everything else isn’t. One “right” doesn’t invalidate a dozen “wrongs”.

H5 magnum is the best starting weapon since CE, it should come back for infinite. BR is boring and slow TTK.

Not a double standard. Halo 2 is the most Halo because it follows the traditional arena style gameplay with ONLY power ups and power weapons.

Halo 5 is the most Halo because it features the thruster system.

Halo infinite is the least Halo because chief is running around with a grapple hook. Something he never does in the books.

These are pretty simple and easy to understand. All your doing is using a straw man argument about the Sprint because the Sprint doesn’t work exactly how it does it the books and it DOESNT. Which is why I advocate for Halo 2 OR Halo 5 because Halo 5 is the closest while Halo 2 is closer. Get it now? Damn bro.

I wouldnt add anything gameplay wise, It would need to be adjusted to Infinite, I cant imagine that to go right.
I like the Spartan core Idea thou. I really hated 343s art style change back then, but I know alot of People liked the armor, A armor core for Halo 5 armor sounds like a neat Idea.
I think we should (and maybe will) get one for all the games/styles.

I dont think that would be Impossible to happen in any way tbh.

Its too complicated for them is the problem and ypu need an elite controller to fully utilize the moves.

The day the elite controller dropped is the day Halo 5 launched. One of the first thoughts I had was “this controller was ment for Halo 5 isn’t it”

Sure enough. All four paddles proved to be insane for the ablities. I’m so used to it now it feels like I’m piloting a drone with Halo 5s movements. Super precise and tight feeling.

I do get that it’s an advantage. It’s fun tho.

halo 5’s armor was visual terrorism. it is beyond me how half the helmets in that game even developed beyond concept art.

Halo 2 is a lore-accurate game because nothing in the game contradicts the larger universe.

H5G is the least lore-accurate game because almost everything in the game contradicts the larger universe.

Halo Infinite is less lore-consistent than Halo 2 and more than H5G because it has more contradictions than Halo 2 and less than H5G.

Yes, they are.
So why don’t you?

That is literally the point. If it doesn’t work like it does in the books - which you even admit - then it’s not lore accurate.
EDIT: Btw, I already gave far more examples than sprint, you just chose to ignore them all when you ran out of arguments.

A) This statement is false.
B) This statement makes no sense. If H5G were the closesest (which it isn’t, it’t the farthest) then Halo 2 couldn’t be closer.

I could ask you the same thing. This is literally on a kindergarden level.

Let’s make it even simpler for you since you can’t grasp the concept.

Halo 2 > Halo 5 > everything else

Take it or leave it but I’m done with you

Halo 2 is apart of every other Halo game so you still agree with me regaurdless. I just don’t see how you like just (Sprint, slide, clamber).any Halo 1-3 purist would say that’s not Halo and that’s exactly what I’m advocating for. Along with removing the equipment.
