So franchises have no meaning then. Star Wars should have master chief in it because franchises mean jack all. You appear to not understand how a franchise works. It is built off of products being similar or the same, a chess board is not Halo no matter what you think and this line of thought can be extended to the games after H3.

It was Halo reach. It was the game MLG dropped. Halo 5ade MLG pickup Halo again because of Halo popular HCS was. So that’s wrong. It was not the death of Halo. If anything it’s what got.it back. Esspically forge

Well I respect that you don’t enjoy the games outside of CE-3. I disagree on a lot of your points, which is fine. Everyone has their own feelings on how things should be. Just know that plenty of people will agree with you and plenty will disagree with you.

I think Halo 5 story was a low point and Halo 3’s multiplayer is my least favorite of all the games. I’m an outlier on that and okay with it because Halo is different to everyone.

My argument was that you can’t just slap “HALO” on something and that instantly makes it Halo. An actual chess board is perfect as it isn’t Halo no matter what.

Halo 5 wasn’t a sticker tho. They literally took lore from.the books. The same books that are apart of the game lore. If anything it’s one of the games that’s the most Halo out of all of them lore wise.

On top of that it followed the equal starts formula that hall 2 was known for.

Equal starts was in H3 and equal starts don’t make it a Halo game. Quake and unreal tournament had equal starts and they are not Halo.

But I understand what you’re saying, ‘spiritually’ ‘Halo’ is tied to that classic arena style gameplay we know and love from CE through 3 (and Reach).

Halo Wars doesn’t play like a classic Halo title, because it wasn’t developed as a classic Halo title. It’s Halo as part of the franchise but not Halo in a ‘spiritual’ sense.

Halo 4 and 5 didn’t feel like that classic CE - 3, but it doesn’t mean they aren’t Halo titles as much as we wish they weren’t.

Except when it is, as is the case with Halo Reach’s official chess mode.

Halo Wars isn’t part of the mainline games, it’s classified as a spin off. Reach, 4, 5 and Infinite do not classify themselves as a spinoff despite playing nothing like the originals.

Reach’s chess mode doesn’t change my point because it still isn’t the definitive Halo experience, it may be in the game but that doesn’t mean you could pull a chess board out IRL with Halo figures and call it real Halo.

That’s why I like Halo 2 and halo 5 because they are exactly how arena games should be. PURE EQUAL STARTS. If I can’t have Halo 5 I’ll gladly take Halo 2.

But I don’t want Halo 3, Halo reach, Halo 4 ,and Halo infinite.
